Coca-Cola is somewhat toxic / poisonous / bad for you. But even essential nutrients-- like Vitamin A or iron-- can become toxic if over-consumed.
Regarding Coca-Cola, the excessive amount of sugar might be the worst thing. Also, I think one of the adverse effects of phosphoric acid is that it leaches calcium from the body, so people who drink soft drinks daily tend to break bones more easily (according to one or more studies).
Of course, the key is moderation. If someone only drinks one or two sodas a week (regular or diet), the impact on health is probably negligible... People who drink two or more sodas a day will obviously have greater chances of health issues as a result of over-consumption.
Brady might come off heavy handed in his comments, but they aren't totally off-base. And he does have a point in criticizing the way the advertising industry targets consumers. It's easy to say people should think for themselves and know better, but across the world, it's also easy to see how easily large numbers of people can be led/misled in one form or another.

It is sad when you see an obese family in the grocery store and the cart is loaded with shitty cereal, soft drinks, chips, cookies, hamburger helper, and mac & cheese.

I've never understood the appeal of coca cola. It's just basically a sugary caffeinated syrupy drink that makes you fat.
However, I admire the insane marketing that coke has going on. It's an advertising juggernaut that is the the envy of nearly every corporation around the world and clearly a model to follow.

That tastes delicious. I don't drink it because it's so bad for you, but I'm not going to act like it tastes bad.

In other news, water is wet and the sky is blue. Now lets go to Brant Brockwell with tomorrow's forecast.

Oddly enough, Scientology itself is incredibly bad "science", if we can even call it actual science of any level or degree.

To clarify, in no way did I mean that this soda thing has anything to do with scientology. I just meant he seems like he would be a scientologist
