Go to a upper class neighbor and you can't tell a Japanese home from any other American. They always take care of their shite. Same neighborhood I can pick out Indian or Chinese. They don't give a frick about the exterior of their house. Weeds everywhere. Grass mowed every two weeks, if lucky. Vegetable gardens growing in mulch beds on the side of the house. Nice paver patios overgrown with weeds because it's never used. I see it all the time.

I bet this guy still finds a reason to hate on those that live there though.

Japanese culture is OCD to the max. It's so robotic and organized, its kind of beautiful and sad at the same time.

Eating and drinking on local trains, but not long distance express trains, is also frowned upon.

Eventually American selfish culture will overrun them. We used to be like that not long ago.

The homeless and unemployed in Japan typically clean up the streets and make themselves useful. Their sense of honor won't allow them to be a burden or considered unwelcome.

Japanese schools don't have janitors. The kids keep everything clean.

Meanwhile, our schools teach... well, it's been a good 245 years.

Its not just the students. The teachers do it to. There is no janitor, nor grounds crews. I regularly see the principal and vp at my schools cutting the grass, teachers helping kids clean the bathrooms, etc

I prefer to rake grass and leaves usually

Interesting to view our streets and public places in the context of the video.

"Reduce freedom"? What does that have to with a culture that naturally projects respect & honesty? My son has lived there 3 yrs now, has married a beautiful Japanese young woman & vows to never come back. He showed me one simple example when I was there for 2 weeks: everyone in Japan, it seems, rides a bike. As we walked around, bikes were parked everywhere, all over the place, and not one was locked. Looked specifically for litter, there was none, not on the streets, sidewalks, anywhere. No government can be that effective, it comes naturally to the Japanese people. The thought that came to my mind was it's like the 1950's in America, Happy Days.

You mean like shut a country down and destroy businesses by government fiat while completely ignoring the constitution?
