On this day 4 years ago Sharon Weiss torched her thanksgiving pie and openly blamed Marie Callendar’s for ruining Thanksgiving.

The resulting comments were just as scorching.

My favorite-

It's a Thanksgiving Classic. We should be reminded every year. God Bless You, Sharon- TYFYS

My sister, in her infinite wisdom, was baking pecan pies for thanksgiving, every time the oven light went off, when the temp was at the right setting, she would turn the oven a little higher because she thought the oven kept going off. Needles to say, she burned every pie she made…

Some people are just too damn inept to even be in a kitchen for anything other than cleaning up and washing dishes---------------and even then it's a crapshoot.

Never fails to make me laugh. Here’s the update:

quote:

"Somehow, some way, the baking temperature had been changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius," Weiss told me. "The result was that when I set the temperature to 375, it was actually closer to 700 degrees Fahrenheit." (707, to be exact.)

In my sister's defense, I think that's the first time she was baking with and electric oven.

Gotta love how she claims it was a mistake on the settings on the oven being wet to celcius even though I can’t even think of an oven that can got to 700F much less that goes over 550 F.

Either she out in self cleaning option or is just what you would expect, a moron.

I've had a built in gas oven ever since I moved in my current house in 92 and the oven has 2 lights that come on when it's turned on to pre-heat.

Both of them go off when the oven reaches the set temperature. That is how you know it's ready for use.

He already mentioned it. It was ready when the light went out but she thought that meant it needed the heat turned up since the light went out.

What was so hard about understanding that????

My mom was making pecan pie and getting Christmas cookies prepared and accidentally added green food coloring to the pie instead of vanilla extract. I always threaten to bring a green pecan pie for Thanksgiving to remind everyone because she was so embarrassed over it.
