I am a year-long resident English teacher at a junior high. Today was my first observation by my university supervisor. I have never lost my keys in the 10 years I have had a vehicle. I put them in the exact same place every single day. I couldn’t find my keys this morning. As I was drenched in sweat from frantically looking literally everywhere inside my house and yard, I had to call my supervisor. We rescheduled for tomorrow. My parents keep my extra set of keys, in case something were to happen (fire, etc.) They live an hour away. So hopefully this is some sort of consolation to anyone else having a terrible start to their day.

Did you check inside your vehicle?

Check your pockets.

I used to get loaded off Xanax bars and lose shite in my pockets all the time.

Might want to keep another spare set closer to where you live.

Why not just call an uber? Rescheduling because of stuff like this looks really bad imo

Pretty sad you were totally incapacitated without a vehicle. Get your shite together.

Lost keys and not paying for a guy's meal at Waffle House. Throw in more idiot drivers on the bridge and is this what today is gonna be like?

I'm just gonna grab a couple shots of whiskey and go back to bed.

My car doesn’t lock with keys inside it. Uber isn’t a thing here.

My friends either work 12 hour shifts 5-5 at hospitals, or get to work at 6. I wake up at 6, leave at 6:50, get to school 25 minutes before first bell. Like clockwork every day. Just not today.

So, when you get the keys from your parents, have 2 copies made...you need to have an extra set stashed away, just in case something actually happens to your keys (ie...you get drunk and drop them to the bottom of a lake). It happens...trust me...it happens.

You couldn't just take an Uber to your job? You're worthless.

I'm not familiar with this usage. What does this mean?

OP...Hang in there. Move forward and get some key copies made. Don't let this ruin you for tomorrow. Good luck and btw, thank you for being a middle school teacher...may be more fraught with peril than law enforcement.
