Maybe it's just me, but t's starting to become comical how many different national/worldwide days they are creating. Today is national World College Radio day, Golf Lover's Day and Vodka day. Let me just think of anything out there, and some group or organization will eventually make a day for it.

Is there a governing body who certifies as "official" these days? Do you have to get enough people to sign a petition? In other words, is there a formal process? Or can I just arbitrarily designate any day as a day for "something"?
