Worse coaching spot

LSU or the Dallas cowboys?

Or even someone like Will Wade. Someone who fits that type of bill.

Who We Really Need

Posted by tigerinthawoods on 10/28/25 at 11:57 am
I think the ideal candidate is someone that’s young, super high energy and that players would love to play for (like Les and Ed O), hungry and itching to make a name for themselves, and also has a winning track record. And even better if they’re someone who is a good cultural fit here.

Basically, we want someone who is similar to Nick Saban before he got here.

Who out there would be closest to this?
Means that the longer he doesn’t fire anyone and we continue to be trash, the sooner Kelly himself will be fired.
quote:

None of that matters. If you don't have $60 million to buy out Kelly and his current staff, and then another $70 million to hire a new head coach and staff... It not going to happen. So quit asking.

Please explain why one of the premiere college institutions in the country doesn’t have that money… I really want to hear a good explanation why we don’t have that.

The coach is ultimately owed the amount in due time.

So please explain. In fact, I want you and everyone else here on this site that is so confident the money isn’t there to explain in full detail. Please.

And just because we would immediately owe our current coach 60 mil doesn’t mean they have to go all out and pay the next guy a crazy amount.

quote:

If he goes 7-5, I seriously doubt he survives. This assumption that LSU can’t afford the buyout is crazy to me. If the boosters get enough of his shite, they will get the funds and according to several proven insiders on the pay sites, they do have the funds. Some of you need to realize the money implications if you don’t fire him and everyone loses interest in the program. Boosters stop giving money, fans stop renewing season tickets, less people at the games to spend money, and a multitude of other things that will end up costing then more money than buying him out. Once the boosters have had enough and say we’re not spending another penny until this guy is gone, and here is the plan to buy out the contract, that dude is fired. They can afford it, what they can’t afford is not doing it.

Well said and what I’ve also been saying. Every single person claiming the talk needs to stop because we won’t be firing him until at least 2027, regardless of what happens blah blah blah, has been blowing up this buyout barrier way more than it is and is greatly underestimating the money the university has. Think of the financial resources they have. Considering the preseason expectations of this team, Kelly’s “judge me year 4” comments, and the clear fan (and maybe even player?) disgust with him as our coach, if things continue going south quickly, AKA we lose out this season, things will escalate dramatically. The pressure at that point to make a major change would be more than extreme, and as big of a name and institution we are, the powers at be would figure out a way to end things.

Think about this - Michigan is now paying one player alone 10 million. And LSU was ready to be somewhere short of that before saying no to the higher bid.

NFL salary caps are now like $250 Million. Where does that money come from each year? Last I checked, saints tickets were selling at half or even a third of what the average LSU ticket has been selling for this year. And I would also argue the LSU fan base is larger than the Saints’.

So just think about that.

The money is out there. Yeah $50 million is an enormous amount for most people, but for institutions, it’s almost a flash in the pan. If shite hits the fan soon enough, there will be no choice but for that money to come together to make the needed changes and get this program back on track to winning.

The defense of this team

All that still want to see us win this Saturday, I’m assuming that you think it will spark new life and energy and lead us to winning out? And possibly making the playoffs? Based off what we’ve seen this year and even if win this Saturday, do you really think that’s possible? I know that probably around half of people are optimistic and want to see the success of our program, but the writing is clear as day at this point that we need to step a few more steps backwards before we move forward again. Kelly is not the answer. A win Saturday and that will basically guarantee he makes it to next year. And then the same old same old will happen once more. Why do you want that? Stop investing your time into a product that is only going to infuriate you and let you down. This is a bad period we’re in. Take it for what it’s worth and go invest your time elsewhere for the time being until we can get the right guy leading this team and all get behind him. Go spend more time with your family and don’t make LSU football the priority that it’s been. Because honestly, it does not deserve that priority until some changes warrant it.
quote:

Now, I'm not yet convinced that Kelly needs to go, but things aren't good in year 4.

HOW are you not yet convinced??? Really???

There is no defending what we’ve seen to this point this year. Use your common sense!
You do realize that if we win, it only delays the inevitable (Kelly’s departure) that much longer? Go find something else to do this Saturday evening. Spend time with the family or find something else to do with your time that you will look back on and cherish. You’re only setting yourself up for a let down with this piss poor coached team.
quote:

But even that is a slippery slope. This is like Les. It is a shitty place to be with a program. We are still a good team with a hard schedule so you lose games. Hell, it is unlikely, but LSU could beat TAMU somehow…then you really can’t justify it

This is exactlyyyy why anyone wanting the best for our program needs to hope we get shellshacked this weekend. We get a win and then it basically means the can will be kicked that much longer with BK. Frickkk that. If we lose out, I don’t care how much his buyout is at that point, there is a 100% chance he is fired. Bottom line and end of discussion. And I will be happy to eat these words. But I won’t. Anyone arguing the buyout is too much is greatly underestimating the financial resources the university has to figure things out. You take the financial L and fricking move on from the loser who’s only doing more damage to the program the longer he is here. Then let it be a huge lesson to not frick up again and sign new coaches to massive 100 million 10 year contracts.

Exactly. The people claiming we can’t afford his buyout… come on. The costs of riding with him and this dumpster fire another few years will be far greater. The administration has to find a way to buy him out, talk him into retirement, or meet somewhere in the middle. Because the writing is plain as day on the wall. Yeah it would be a massive financial setback, but at least you starting from a clean slate and you can only hope the administration can learn from this disaster of a experience and not ever let this happen again. Get a young up and comer who has fire in him on a cheap 1-2 year prove it deal and see where it goes. We all know we will be in rebuild next year, so that’s where you start clean.
The administration has to find a way to buyout his contract and then you get a young up and comer on a cheap 1-2 year deal if things don’t work out. You know we’ll be im rebuild next year, but at this point anything is better than continuing the ride with Kelly. The ceiling has been shown to us.

We all want him gone? Hope that we lose out. Things we will start escalating dramatically after each loss. 6-6 with this roster and you’re looking at a train wreck. Then it’s called ripping the band aid off instead of watching a slow death.

Is the sky blue?
Simply put, I think at the end of the day this case falls on Lacy. Even though the lady was clearly distracted driving, the video showing Lacy driving that fast and reckless, that close to the accident, is going to be what decides this case. The gold truck saw Lacy coming head on, slammed his brakes and veered slightly to the right to avoid potentially hitting Lacy, and then the lady in the last milliseconds realizes she’s in a bad situation, instincts kick in and she swerves to the left to avoid the truck. That is very likely what happened and Lacy just so happened be in bad place at a bad time when illegally passing, much less legally passing. Lacy caused the gold truck to hit the breaks, causing the reaction of the funyon lady, therefore causing the accident. But I am still of the opinion the funyon lady should hold some liability in this accident based off the data.
Does anyone know the name of this lady who lied about how the accident happened? It’s strange that both Lacy’s name and the driver that died are publicly listed, but I can’t find anything on this lady.

Anyone know anything??
