I understand having your EDC with you, but I have no idea why anyone would leave a firearm in their vehicle unattended. It takes ten seconds for your vehicle to be broken into and voila, your firearm is now out on the street in the possession of some POS.

No my sales calls are in the MTNS and hills of NC and VA so I don't run into any issues. I am in Charlotte a good bit though but it doesn't seem real thuggish.

Don't do work at the ones in the area you referenced, but a couple other ones in Arkansas. Usually my travels take me through Jackson, MS; Memphis, TN; and Montgomery, AL to get to where I am going so I try to stay aware of my surroundings.

I work in a similar field as you, I think. My business takes me throughout TX, LA, MS, AL and AR. I tend to find myself on plenty of back roads and small towns. As you put it, "most mills aren't in the best areas". I carry everywhere.

And I was wrong. I work in the Timber Mill insurance industry. Your reference to paper mill got me thinking it could be close.

I travel 6 weeks at a time for work. I fly, so I do not carry my concealed firearm when I am on the road. My company strictly forbids firearms in work vehicles. I'd venture to say there are a few good ole boys that do.

Yes and all of my co workers that travel pack heat as well. My boss gave me flak about it a few years ago but had a change of heart last year and got his CC permit.

Not a boating accident? Or were they stolen from your boat?

Keep it on my person until I get to the office. Leave it locked in my truck or motorcycle depending on what mode of transport I'm using that day. When I generally have it with me probably 99% of the time when I'm out anywhere.

ETA: We're prohibited from having firearms inside the building, that's why I leave mine locked up outside.
