I’m a gym rat and go every day. I’ve been told you can’t go back to the gym for a couple weeks.

You lose your manhood. You voluntarily rejected the most basic principle of being a man. People can say whatever they want, but if you get a vasectomy you are less of a man. And psychologically you know it the rest of your life.

As most everyone said, minor discomfort. Done on Friday, back at work Monday.
One side of mine went fine, other side was being "difficult" and at one point I could feel them tugging, so my arse was up off the table....Nurse says "Mr. Bullock, you have a very muscular scrotum." Couple seconds of awkward silence and all I could come up with was "Thanks, I work out."

I put it off for as long as possible, but finally went through with it a few months back.
I scheduled an initial consultation with the doctor for what I thought was just going to be a quick and easy Q&A session about the procedure in general. Evidently the doctor's office was under the belief it was a pre-op appointment because as soon as I was called back from the waiting room I was given a cup to piss in and asked to roll up my sleeve for blood work. I panicked and told the nurse "You know we aren't doing any surgery today, right?" She said the urine/bloodwork was standard stuff. The doc comes in and he's explaining the procedure and answering my questions. Then he says "alright, hop up and drop your pants"...which led to him examining my scrot. What I thought would just be a quick discussion was anything but. I left that day with a greater sympathy for the "me too" victims
The procedure wasn't done in an OR. It took place literally in the examination room. Upon my arrival I first went to the in-house pharmacy to get the prescribed Valium pill. Knowing that wouldn't be enough to calm my nerves, I took a THC gummy before leaving for the doctor's office to at least get me somewhat as relaxed as possible...then doubled up with the Valium.
Upon entering the exam room the nurse told me to lay on the exam table and pull my pants down to my ankles. I didn't have to take off my shoes. Lucky for me, I had the regular nurse and a new girl who was being trained. So I have two women looking at my terrified manhood. The main nurse taped my pud to my stomach (while explaining each step to the trainee in excruciating detail). She then laid a paper sheet over my junk and tore a hole in the middle to put my sack through. She then rubbed iodine all over my ballsack.
The procedure itself wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The most discomfort was the doctor tugging and pulling on my balls to get the two vas in place. It wasn't a sharp pain. Just uncomfortable. He then gave me the shot. I felt it for about a split second (like getting a shot at the dentist). After that, I could feel the doctor working, but no real pain. Just the pressure of him moving stuff around. I just laid back and tried to go to my happy place while clenching my teeth waiting for the awful pain...that never came. From the time the doctor started to the time he finished was probably about 5-10 minutes (if that).
I walked out after with no pain. It just felt like my sack was swollen. When I got home I laid in bed with a bag of frozen peas for about 20 minute intervals. I did that for 2 days. There was some very mild discomfort for the next few days, but no real pain. I didn't need the pain med script. Advil was enough and I really didn't even need that. After about 6 days I was brave enough to test things out again to start the process of "clearing the mechanism". No pain. No problems.
TLDR: The fear of the procedure is FAR worse than the actual procedure.

No problem at all. Felt a little sting. Was pretty much normal as soon as I walked out.
Used some medicinal herb before procedure

milk it for all it's worth.
You might avoid that particular activity for a few days...

I mean, you get a doctor's note to milk it 10 times after the surgery as fast as possible, just sayin'

Just did it. The shots are bad not gonna lie lol. But I’m two weeks out from it and feel normal.

I am no expert, nor have I had the procedure, but I strongly advise not to do it.

They didn’t give me enough drugs and I felt the first incision lmao. Wasn’t bad pain just more of a “yeah man I just felt you slice my sack”. Other than that best thing I ever did!

What’s the anesthesia wears off, it felt like 100 bees were stinging me down there.
I came home and slept the rest of the afternoon without moving. I was back to normal but limited activities the next day. I was back to 100% by the third day.

on the second side when they did mine, when they checked to make sure the anesthetic was in full effect I could still feel it pretty decently and told them so. so they gave me some more. Rinse and repeat about a half dozen times. Finally i tell him to just get it over with and I'll be fine. So at this point he re-positions himself...which made it very clear that he had been pinching a different part of my sack or something between his hand and the table and that's what I would feel when he moved to start poking around and I couldn't feel a thing where it mattered. That shite was numb for 3 days

Absolutely despicable.
No self-respecting man should do this.
There is no difference between a vasectomy and a transgender operation. Both involve genital mutilation that results in infertility.

Like another poster said the pre-op consultation and the procedure itself are straight embarrassing. I had an all female cast. Doctor was really hot in her doctor's outfit. That got me through the operation.
She gave me lidocaine prilocaine cream to put on my balls before I left the house. She said "just put saran wrap on top of the cream and cake it on thick." She also said to shave everything. Shave the balls to help prevent infection, shave the area above the frank because they tape your pecker up so it doesn't get in the way (mine was retracted for the operation anyways I'm pretty sure). The shaving was the most annoying thing about the operation. Moreso than any post op discomfort. Razor burn is a bitch.
Got to the office and ended up having to wait a good hour for them to prep the room past my appointment time. So I sat there for an hour with numb nuts. Left side took about 10 minutes, no issues. Right side, the vas was deeper in the tissue and she was trying to rip it out like she was trying to start a lawn mower it felt like. I actually felt her cauterize the vas on that side. Very uncomfortable, but not the most pain I've ever been in. Right side took 45 minutes. Psychologically, it's more uncomfortable because you do feel some discomfort, and you have no clue how far the pain is going to go, but it never got above like a 3 or 4 on the pain scale.
My wife has had high blood pressure and needs to get off the birth control, so I did it for her. Wish I would have done it years ago, but glad she can come off bc sooner than later. Had mine done in February so we are coming up on time to start sending off samples.
Recovery was not bad at all. 100% do not get off the couch for anything other than to go pee for 2 days. And don't do any kind of strenuous activity for a week. A buddy golfed 2 days after his operation and he had a lot of pain for a few months. Not worth it. Find a way to enjoy the down time. Frozen pees are your friend.
