If it imploded, why are there reports of banging sounds every 30 minutes being heard for at least a few hours on Monday
It is now Wednesday and if they haven't imploded they probably wish they had.

I cannot imagine a worse way to go out.

I just don't get it. The last trip resulted in the exact same communication loss. A whistleblower is saying you're going to die. It's like paying 250k for the Wright brothers to fly you to Paris

Wonder if his opinion had changed?

Yeah, life ain't without risk but at 12k ft under water im gonna need you to dot every i and cross every t. And even then, I'm too big of a wuss to go.

This is all so bizarre. I can't believe anyone willingly got in that thing, much less to see a pile of rust in the ocean. How dumb are these people?

haven't really kept up with this story. I just figured it was a few explorers exploring. But, it's some rich folks out for a joy ride?

The reward of seeing the Titanic is not worth the risk of death to me. Obviously, 5 people disagree with me. Ego is a hell of a drug.

Would be amazing if Elton John piloted a rainbow sub down with Kaitlyn Jenner riding shotgun to save the freaking dayyyy

Maybe if it were a lost capsule to Mars instead?

The outcome would be the same.

Having said that, is there a chance these guys are sitting on the bottom of the ocean and the sub could still just implode at any moment? Or do they hit the bottom and they’re just sitting there forever?
If they are sitting on the bottom, at some point the hull will give way and the thing will implode. How long that might take is anyone's guess but they would not be there forever.

Well with the sight glass being designed for 3000m and the sub being in 4000m of water, it seems it probably wouldn't last forever down there. I bet it takes a damn long time for it to degrade enough to collapse though, assuming it was in working order when it left.

Is there a woman bitching in the background in scenario 1?

I’ll take sitting in draws with a beer on my couch for $25 please Alex.

Here is a good question. 5 people onboard breathing oxygen. You have a pocket knife and are stuck onboard. Do you attempt to kill the 4 other passengers to give yourself more oxygen and a better chance of being found?
This is assuming that the vessel didnt implode.

Seems like at this point they are most likely in a state of hypothermia?
