Does the new car have tires? The fee is for disposal of THOSE tires.

I am not saying you have to pay it. I am just telling you what it is.

It is mandated in the state of louisiana that tire disposal fee be listed on the bill of sale for all new vehicles.

Where do you people come up with this shite...

Yes. The dealer can take 9 dollars off of the price to make you feel like a master negotiator. Yes... It Will still show on the bill of sale.

State fee for tire disposal is $2 per tire when replacing older tires with newer tires.

What tires are you supposed to be disposing ???

What dealership is this? I'm in the market for a new vehicle soon and would gladly avoid them.

I would bet money it’s All-Star. I worked for them. They love fees to jack up prices. They actively taught us to not go over the breakdown of price and only push monthly payments.

New tires sold in LA get the fee whether you turn in an old tire or not. It’s how the disposal system is funded when recyclers turn in old tires.

Having this show up on a bill of sale is new to me on a brand new car since I would assume the tires on the new car were provided wherever the car’s final assembly point is out of the state of LA.

Go round up a bunch of tires and just leave them at the dealership and don't buy a car there. What a weird fee to arbitrarily tack on for not even disposing of tires that you're paying to dispose of.

I had a dealer refuse to budge on a $195 fee for nitro in the tires. I bought from a different dealer.

A local Honda dealer insisted that wasn't arbitrary on a vehicle I bought earlier this year. Not a whole lot of money but pissed me off to pay for a disposal that didn't happen!

Should be posted somewhere in dealership or tire dealer. They could eat the $10 cost on new vehicle sale.

Lol. And even if you did, it’s $3.00 a tire but only on pull-offs when you buy a new set.

I'll bet that when you get the final paperwork it will also have a document preparation fee. Don't pay it either.

My mother in law paid a $1000 diagnostic and check fee, when buying a used car. I tried to get her to walk over it. I've never heard such bullshite.
