Snuck multiple bottles of whiskey in Listerene bottles as well as a few liters of liquor still in the bottles amongst a group. I think 2 out of 7 people got theirs taken away, but still had enough. And we did the cheers program ontop of that.

Reasons to Avoid Poor Cruise Limes:
Food Poisoning
Fire At Sea
Pilipino sputum in your food
No clear legal status while at sea
Chalmation Clientele Having to Sneak Alcohol Onboard
----> Carnival Cruise=Hades

Hydrogen peroxide bottle. Empty it out. Fill in liquor

We cruised with Royal Caribbean a few years ago and my brother put a fifth and a half gallon in a couple of different bags. He didn't bother trying to disguise it. When he got to his room and opened up his bags, he a had a note in one saying the crew was gonna drink a toast to him on his liquor. All his booze got confiscated.
I wouldn't recommend just packing bottles of booze in your luggage. They scan all of them, and know what a bottle of booze looks like.

By far the best way for whiskey or anything brown is to buy the cheapest bottle of Chardonnay that has a cork. Twist the bottle and carefully take the foil off the top of the bottle without damaging it. Remove the cork and drink the wine if you like. Pour in whiskey and put the cork back in and recover with the foil. You get one bottle of wine a person. Use it wisely

My dad put a 6 pack of beer in his suitcase and it got through

They randomly x-Ray so it really is a crap shoot with the main luggage. My suggestion is to hide it in the carry on. They visually check it but not really thoroughly.

Get a vaccuum bag sealer
Cut your bags to be roughly the footprint of the inside of your suitcase.
Fill with whatever liquor and put in the bottom of the suitcase. If there is a hard bottom to the suitcase you can pull out, put the bag under it.
And NO MATTER WHAT don't get them to bring your bags to your room. I brought a couple of handles on board, no issue. My dumbass friends that checked the bags to have the crew bring them on board, lost every drop they tried to sneak on.

I just rolled the dice (or is it die?) and left the alcohol in its original bottle. I won that hand. My friends have put liquor in mouthwash and shampoo bottles...the taste was awful.

My wife tried smuggling coconut rum in a water bottle. They shook the bottles and busted her because of the bubbles.

Why dont you just pay for the alcohol you consume and not risk looking like a gigantic cheap douchebag when they catch you and embarrass you in front of everyone.

I've done this numerous times. First time I was concerned as well and did my best to hide everything. Any clear liquor, just pour it into a water bottle and you're fine. Make sure you keep everything in your luggage, it doesn't get checked. Too many people and too little time to check all of those bags. Carry on will get searched. They shake all water bottles to look for bubbles.
What I did on the last 2 cruises, I still put all clear liquor in water bottles, but I also tossed some bottles straight into my bag. The last cruse I poured a liter of Vodka into water bottles, brought a handle of crown still in the bottle, and a 5th of rum still in the bottle. Once in the room, it's fair game. Room service doesn't care at all. I left the bottles sitting out at all times on the counter. Just make sure you tip them well.

It's not about being able to afford it. It is about choosing not to pay the ridiculously inflated prices they charge for drinks.
How much do they charge?

Why would you put brown liquor in a white wine bottle? Wouldn't a bottle of red work much better?

I think it was $10-12 for those specialty drinks. But you could drink them in an hour. And since all you're doing is drinking that adds up. I never got beer. I don't remember how much but it was outrageous
For those of you putting it in wine bottles, how did it not leak? I carried an open bottle of wine in the back of my car recently and it spilled all over. I guess I didn't put the cork in hard enough
