Nah they will gain people who never went before purely because they are virtue signaling.

You might think this is crazy but small clubs like these and music communities have lots of liberal attendees who will feel more comfortable attending events in a place that goes extra steps.

They aren’t trying to draw a mass crowd. A loyal local base of a few hundred regulars plus the revolving tourists and they are fine at DBA. They don’t live and die with baws coming in for 3 for 1 beers.

Tipitinas May have a little harder time with specific acts being booked. But it’s a specific niche slice of their business

I guess anything is possible. Are you saying appealing to your "woke" customer base who you believe is ryde or die for the vaccine (since they are left leaning) will result in increased sales?

I'll need to see the data to believe it but we are living in bizarro world so I won't discount it.

It sucks, but I respect a business' right to enforce whatever they feel they need to enforce.

Will you feel the same when people in wheelchairs are not allowed in the venue?

I am astounded someone with your condition wants to slide down this slippery slope.

Something like 70% of adults in the city have at least one shot. Their market is vaccinated.

Eh says complete Covid card.

I take that has fully done.

But they will have people still.

These places all came way too close to going under, due to over the top regulations imposed on them by the government. It’s only smart for them to try to get out in front of this to at least try to show to the powers that they don’t have to close again.

I think if they get shuttered again, at least two of those names go under, maybe three. The Maple Leaf and Tipitinas are fricking treasures that must be preserved.

I bet you were spending whole pay checks at DBA pre pandemic - am I right?

No. I wouldn't be caught dead in a shithole like New Orleans.

I haven’t lived in Nola since early 2019. What’s Frenchman Street like on a weekend these days?

The last $1 I spent in Orleans parish was at the 2020 National Title game in the Dome. There is no reason that will change anytime in the near future.

It’s not like Tipitina’s is booking Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan or other music acts that are popular with antivaxxers. Your typical antivaxxer isn’t going to Tipitina’s
