Time to boycott Orpheus for naming a drag/trans/freak as their monarch?

I don’t even know wtf a parade monarch is but no thanks for promoting whatever that freakshow group is calling themselves these days.

Looks like it’d normally be King or Queen but given these cringey circumstances, “Monarch.”

Do these guys support trannys?

Let me get this straight, you're worried about someone who dresses up in drag being in a parade where everyone else dresses up and wears costumes?

I think if there’s any place for that kinda stuff it's Mardi Gras.

Better than in charge of the children's section of your local library.

Well, it is a bit off...but who actually cares. My Carnival routine ends before Orpheus parades. I've only seen Orpheus once and I really wasn't impressed compared to Endymion or Bacchus.
That being said, the one time I stayed beyond Monday morning was 2020, hoping to see Tiger Band in Rex (which didn't happen, even with the National Championship).
Now, I'm showing my age here, but back in the day everything built up for Mardi Gras. Last time I was there, it didn't feel the same to me.
Today, I think the buildup is for the second weekend really starting on Thursday with Muses, then Friday afternoon on Bourbon St. followed by the night parades, particularly Krewe 'd Etat and Hermes, all the Saturday day parades closing out with Endymion, and wrapping up with the Sunday parades led off by Thoth and the other krewes, ending with Bacchus.
I'll probably get nuked by the real traditionalists, but here's my take for what it's worth.

Does someone being trans affect you in literally any way? Likely not, so who cares?

Idgaf. You’re giving them the attention they want

Mardi Gras is where we let all the wildness out into the open.

Aren't most Marti Gras celebrators gay or trans anyway?

We actually planned on doing Orpheuscapade this year and have multiple people coming in town to do it and MG in general.

If trans people belong anywhere, it's in mardi gras parades.
