Aren’t a bunch of them outright Liars or at the very least exaggerating?
I'm sure. A lot of people out there like to piggyback on shite like this.
But this "movement" has taken down Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Matt lauer, almost ben Affleck, etc. Whether you agree with it or not, you can't deny its influence. That's what time person if the year is for, influential people.

I'm not denying the reason why they choose to do this...
It's pretty obvious

Poor rocket.
You're a weird dude. I don't have to be a feminist to see that.

Trump won last year and tons of people hate him. It's all about influence.
Pretty much. It's just who/what is behind the hot news story of the year (or past 6 months).

It's not some liberal conspiracy like this board loves to say everything is.
I'm not liberal but it's easy to see why this phenomenon would be chosen. And I don't even feel strongly about the #metoo thing one way or the other tbh.

I don't think that was the reason
The only reason, no. But it's a hell of an incentive to not have to take on the risk yourself and be part of a movement. Especially when someone asks you if it's ok. You don't say anything, you don't say no, you don't leave, you don't do anything until 15 years later. Then it's all about how terrible it was and how scarred you are.
And some are in it for the attention. Women aren't referred to as attention whores because we don't like the spotlight.

Indeed.
It's for clicks and attention. Props to them. It's still funny

Well yeah, it's normal to feel safer in a group

It's because of the implication.
I don't fault the real victims for not wanting to lose their jobs or be blacklisted. Yes they should've spoken up earlier, but I get why they didn't and why they did when they did.
For the people who are lying, shitty people exist. People piggyback on shite all the time. It's just a sad reality.
I think the real shitty people are ones who bring up false rape allegations and ruin a guys life. People are criticizing these victims for doing the complete opposite.

Idk if I'd call eclectic tales of sexual misconduct funny, but meh. Doesn't really move my needle one way or the other. This is my first time posting about this deal anywhere on social media, actually
You starting a thread about it pretty much justifies the magazine's intent.

it's not even the first time they've given this to a group

Someone else airing out what happened to them gives you the confidence to step forward.
this is also true
The problem comes in when it's done as part of #metoo and not due to the emotional trauma or the courage to step forward. When the #metoo is someone grabbed their arse this one time on the dance floor at the club.
We as a society have gotten so caught up, that we've allowed the allegations alone to be enough to destroy someone. That's not due process. But, to even question some of these women, is misogyny.
It reeks of hypocrisy. Ashley Judd comes to mind. She just rails about how much she hates Trump and what he did to women, but kept her mouth shut when it suited her career. And this is exactly why people are sketpical.
