If it were just Moore or Franken, I could see it being mostly about politics. But it ain't. Big names on both sides of the aisle caught up in the melee.

I'm NOT saying I think every #metoo hashtag is legit or every one of the accusations is with merit. I also think it's pretty fricked up for a girl (or guy) to come back years after the fact and re-cast what both parties regarded at the time as benign conduct as something malicious. Like NoHo said, little of both going on.

Which is why it's silly to get worked up over it either way. Just let the allegations come out, don't rush to judgment until the facts are all out, and go from there. Not that difficult but people make this shite into more than it is.

That doesn't sound like fun at all.

I agree and each time one of these comes up, this my exact line of thinking. Most of them have turned out to be pretty heinous, at least the ones involving celebrities.

there's no way to know whether or not this is the intent. But let's be clear, you shouldn't grab someones arse in the club.

Winner. Even to say "I'm withholding my opinion until further evidence surfaces," is seen as either victim blaming or outright endorsement of criminal intent.

People are too quick to want to act like they know everything about every case. Most of us will NEVER know every sordid detail of these ill-fated interactions. Not do I want to, tbh. I know enough now to know better and in the meantime I'm not going to give either party in these types of cases carte blanche over my emotions/reasoning.

Also, it's not like anyone without celebrity that is tweeting #metoo is truly going to have their "case" looked into. And while Time made it same like it's for everyone, we all know this is geared around the celebrities that have come forward. And those cases that I've heard, were all pretty fricky situations.

Rocket on the other hand is acting as though it's completely normal to invite someone to your hotel room, whip your pecker out, and start beating off in front of them. I mean, what did they expect?

See I wouldn't say that. Some girl spends all evening grinding/shaking her arse at a dude, it's pretty disingenuous to turn around and holler #METOO! if the guy finally cops a feel without getting her signed consent in triplicate

Context matters. Some stuff is obviously over the line regardless, but some of these #metoo allegations have been as benign as they are heinous.

well, yea. The entire point in #metoo is that you didn't give said person consent or even the idea that you wanted that.

Where are you guys reading about these scenarios anyways? This seems to be going just as far in the other direction.

It reeks of hypocrisy. Ashley Judd comes to mind. She just rails about how much she hates Trump and what he did to women, but kept her mouth shut when it suited her career. And this is exactly why people are sketpical.

I really like you NoHope.

FWIW...i’d Sexually harass you in a club if you wanted me to.

Your wording was weird and would lead one to infer such. If that's not the case, then I misread, and I apologize. I don't twist words on people for the hell of it.

I was explaining why I didn't think the subject matter particularly humorous.

No. People are saying don't wait 15 years to come forward. Don't wait for someone to be running for office 30 or 40 years down the road. Don't stop at one person who tells you to be quiet. Scream it from the rooftops if you need to. Tell your friend, you parents, your doctor, your priest, your therapist.

But don't stay silent.

And my counterpoint is that there needs to be culpability on both parties in a lot of these situations. Just being reasonable is all.

It is. That's what I've been trying to say. It covers too broad a spectrum of interaction IMO.

you made a comment about what do they expect when going to a hotel room.

you referred to all of this as funny numerous times.

if anything you've said was taken in the wrong context, it's your own fault. You're speaking in these fricking weird bro riddles this entire thread. If you want folks to understand what you're saying, just say it. Repeatedly saying "it's just funny" or "just lol" is pretty vague.
