What about minor ones? Ive found records of several insignificant battles where a Calvary troop took on 20 Indians.

Well, China has existed as a country in some shape or form since 1600bc with written record going back to 1250bc. That would be 3619 years of history with only 200 odd wins.
Chinese history is rife with invasions. Several Chinese dynasties were invading peoples who took over China.

China wasn't a country all that time. It would be like Rome continuing on as Italy or Greco city states as Greece.

The French get a bad rap because of WWII. But in WWI they held the Germans off and did a lot of killing of the enemy . Since WWII and the loss of empire they have not fared as well with Dienbienphu in Viet nam and the leaving in Algeria ( which they did win in the field). Napoleon sure did win a lot of battles though....and lost some big ones like Waterloo and his retreat from Russia.
From what I understand today, the French military is first rate in terms of training, etc. You do want those guys on your side in a fight

Chinese history begs to differ. We can argue semantics all we want. An established Chinese dynasty was formed sometime around 1600bc (and thought to have an older dynasty around 2000bc) and has existed in some form or fashion since then.
When would you say China “came to be”?

What is China as a country then? Was it the establishment of the Republic of China? If so, then you have to scrap every accomplishment of what people think is China, since the Republic of China actually still exists and is known by most people as Taiwan. China has been split with civil war for thousands of years.
