One of the greatest theater actors of all time. I loved his performance in the original It miniseries.

The guy sure had a knack for playing villains.

I had zero idea that guy was that old. Would have guessed 68.

First Pennywise...

Lord of Darkness in Legend

Pre MTv, in 1979, when my parents first got cable television, WGN had this show on Saturday mornings that played music videos from various bands... Tim Curry had a couple on it... One I distinctly remember..

They did a special screening of it last year. Hope they do it again real soon.

It was said that Michael Caine was so great in Muppet Christmas Carol because played it as if all the muppets were serious human actors alongside him.

It was also said that Tim Curry was so great in Muppet Treasure Island because he played it as if he were a muppet alongside the other muppets.

He was a great comedic actor.

It's amazing the accomplishments he and Steph have had in completely different occupations.

His Pennywise was perfect. In the scenes where he's feigning being normal, Curry did a good job of making it look somewhat like a conventional circus clown but the most sinister eyes and smile imaginable. It's great at building tension and dread.

The first thing I ever saw him in as a kid was his guest spot on a few episodes of Roseanne as a real estate scammer.

Saw him live during the preview of Spamalot on Broadway. It wasn't too long before his health took a bad turn, but he was in good form and good spirits that night.

He had quite the range, when one thinks about it

He had a compelling on-screen charisma, didn't he?
I always enjoyed his performances very much.

RIP.
