The PGA is not obligated to do shite.
The opportunity is 100% there for Devonte same as it is for Phil.
But, (and trigger warning you pussy) maybe black athletes aren't well suited for a sport that doesn't require running, jumping, or hitting?
Nah, clearly the answer is systemic racism. The PGA should be recruiting black players, but that's not enough. They should all hit from the red tees as well.

if there isnt any minority players qualified to play in the masters then I dont think its the PGA's problem. There are tons of players from Hispanic and Asian countries. If they didnt qualify then too bad try next year.
That aside it's not true...I saw vijay is in there...si woo kim...angel cabrerra, kevin na, Hideki Matsuyama, & sergio to name a few

If black people wanna play golf then they can. Golf or the PGA shouldn't change to make it more accommodating to them

Golf and it's club owners strategically and blatantly kept blacks and others out of the sport.
They should make a push for more diversity.
there not being enough good white American players IS NOT the same thing as barring people from a sport.
Y'all are dense

There's is also the issue whether or not minority groups (like BLM) have standing to sue to compel the PGA to act, or even seek damages for their failure to do so.
There is no way you actually are this dumb.

I demand a black caddie when I golf.

mean, how many minority kids do you see putting down the football or basketball to pick up a golf club? Almost any time a minority plays golf, ESPN is slobbering all over them before they even know if they're legit or not. I've tried a lot of different sports and let me say, golf is by far the most infuriating game I've ever played. However, I digress, it's 2017 so any time something with a white majority is taking place, it might as well be a clan rally at this point because that's how the world today will treat it.
Socioeconomically, how many blacks have the time, money, resources and connections to devote to this luxury sport? Also will the majority make the barrier for entry (not skill) easier for others? It'd be in their advantage to not do so

I noticed on Twitter the hashtag #AllWhiteMasters is trending, and I took a look at the roster and it's not wrong
15 of the ~90 competitng are from Asia, Africa, and South America.

Recently? As in over 50 years?

If I'm dense, then you believe everything you hear as fact! Club owners worry about one thing and one thing only! MONEY, and if that comes from Joe Blow white guy, then that is their call to make, not yours or mine.
there are very few professional sports that do not draft or select their players based on physical features. Golf is one of those sports, it is based on merit, where a 300lb guy who crushes the ball can qualify and possibly win a golf tournament, same a 150lb string bean of a man, who can't clear his shadow.

If they didn't like spending $400/month on a brand new car with spinners maybe they could get a membership somewhere

The PGA does sponser various inner city programs
When I was a kid I played in some tourneys in the Gulf States region and they would bring in groups of black kids to play and waive their entry fees.
I was not a good golfer so I got paired with these guys during two tourneys. There were some pretty high scores posted by our groups. LOL
Seriously, the masters nor the PGA are a government run program so get out of here with this stupid shite

This type of thread is why DJT won. People are tired af of this enabling bs weak attitude. Want more black golfers? Go take out billboard ads and out them in predominately black areas and inspire interest in the youth. There are very few black golfers. If they aren't good enough, they don't get the invite. That's not the PGA's fault.
Ghetto subculture should never be a allowed to pervade the tone and tenor, though. Period. You like golf? Be good at it. Dress the part. Act the part.

I'm sorry, when did BREC start banning blacks from playing Webb Park, Beaver Creek, and Santa Maria? I've played golf for over 20 years now and I've never been a member of a country club.
This ain't the 1970s. If a minority golfer wants to dedicate themselves to being a pro golf, there is nothing holding them back other than the ability to get the ball in the hole in less strokes than their competition.
