Why didn’t they charge him with vehicular homicide, which carries five to thirty?

What a fricking joke.
That judge and the DA…POS just as much as the killer.

Should do a civil suit as well and ruin this dude financially forever. Take his trailer and 4 wheelers.

Just a good white guy that made a mistake.

What the normal sentence for negligent homicide?
Vehicular homicide is when you’re drunk, not negligent
Max sentence is 30 years
Kid that killed my dad got 15 years in St Tammany

This guy is gonna be lucky to not have a little street justice metted out to him.

What is the name of the judge who sentenced him?
Reads like a plea deal, so I’d blame the DA

Probably not. He’ll do some time in jail and probably be financially ruined for a while from a civil suit but that’s about it.

He was a good boy. He was going to community college and getting his life together. Let’s throw in some high school graduation pictures of him. Am I doing it right? The way one side does it? You won’t see me feeling sorry for this guy. No St. Floyd of fentanyl here.

None of this seems like justice

LP. Him and the Ards are probably tight.

The dude is 34 in this picture. Looks 44.

2nd DUI, killed 2 people in a boat crash, and he only gets 2 years?
Yeah this reeks.

I wouldn't be surprised if a family member of the victims knocks this ole drunk baw in the head when he gets out.
With Asians, this is the dude's likely fate.

The dude that killed a guy on a bicycle late at night in Denham a couple years ago just got 5 years and i know for a fact he's had a couple DUI's before. The thing with his was they didn't catch him until a couple of weeks later so no proof he was under the influence

How often do you guys think street justice is meted out in cases like this? I figured I’d hear about them all the time on the news the way this board talks about it.

but he could have not agreed with it.
That almost never happens. Plea deals are generally conditional on the sentence agreed upon. I guess he could have rejected the plea, but the judge doesn’t know the specific facts of the case for the most part. So it’s a rubber stamp.
