Ticketmaster and Fees

Was looking for two tickets to the I Love The 90s show tonight at Smoothie King Center.
Cheap seats (I'm not an OT baller and don't care) are $26.50 each. I select two seats, free ticket by phone, and log in.
Get to next screen - total $95.80.
Added to ticket price: a Service Charge of $10.90 per ticket, a facility charge of $8.00 per ticket, and a order fee of $5.00 (only charged once).
Why not just, when they show the ticket price, add the $18.90 in charges to the price in the first place. I kinda get the $5 order fee being added at the end, even though it's a BS charge.
I don't mind paying the money for the ticket... but I don't understand why they don't just disclose the total cost up front.

I had a $5 “email fee” on some tickets I bought for the Dead and Co. show, first time I had ever seen a charge for emailing costs

Their fees are exorbitant, which is somewhat surprising since they settled a huge class action over that exact issue a few years ago. Screw them.

Also, frick Stubhub and the MLB.

Go in person to box office if you want to avoid fees.

the fees have gotten out of control. whats crazy is that is sent straight up to the company. the outlets make less than a dollar in the transaction

Break down of where these fees go:
Service Fee and Order fee: These fees are set by "both" the client and Ticketmaster and they share the fee(s).
The facility fee is the fee charged by the operating facility and they receive 100% of the fee. Ticketmaster just collects the fee for them.
The reasons above are the reasons Ticketmaster breaks down the fees. They do not receive 100% of the fees.

Yeah I have backed out of placing a order a few times on ticketmaster because of the fees.

I don't mind paying the fees. I don't care who gets the money.
What annoys me is that they are not upfront about these fees and don't show them before you select a seat.

Very few companies show their fees upfront. Most fees (handling, shipping, taxes, etc.) are seen in the "cart" when making a purchase. Why should Ticketmaster be held to a different standard?

Shipping and handling fees are often a function of the entire sale, and tax rates may not be determined until you enter in shipping info.
Very different situation.
Firther, just the service charge and the facility charge are 71 percent of the ticket price in this situation. Do you know any companies that charge 71% extra fees?

Still will get charged some fees even with that.
Fck ticket master. There was a beer festival that I wanted to go to a few years ago. $35 ticket and a $8 per ticket fee tacked on.

Dicketmaster adds way more to the cost though from what you first see to what you end up with on the final screen. They rip people off and they've been proven to do so even if they don't receive all of the fee money. They didn't settle a 400-million dollar lawsuit for nothing.
