It's almost like decades of neglect and lack of funding have caused this to occur
The US government is already one of the biggest spenders in the world when it comes to public education and healthcare. Yet neither is top notch.

It wouldn't be so scary if these Democrats hadn't turned into full on authoritarians. That's what's horrifying. They are no longer liberal. They are totalitarians at heart and want to crush any dissent.
They will happily give your healthcare ration to an illegal alien while denying you yours for not worshipping at the altar of progressivism. People like dawgfan would absolutely justify it too.

I would trade AOC, Bernie, Salmon, Spleen, and dawgfan for a single Cuban protester.

Who do we depend on for leading the world in healthcare innovation if the US is no longer serving that role?
China?
This is our place in the world. And right now everyone on earth is better for it. Shredding the whole system because you don't like to pay for insurance is incredibly stupid.

Good call out. How much will my taxes have to go up to pay for health care for 350 million Americans + everyone that is allowed to freely walk through our borders?

He should get upset that Bernie Sanders says a lot but caves to the establishment in the end.

Bernie, like a good member of the politburo, got paid to shut his fricking mouth and he still gets worshipped by the naive children we see in this thread.

I don't know if you are a communist, but you are short sighted as hell.
No one with their head on right thinks that a government run healthcare system will be anything short of a train wreck.

Socialist.
In many ways, they're worse than Communists.

What an awful take, America is at the forefront of a lot of medical breakthroughs but it isn't because Billy's medical bills are $50k
Oh really?
Can you point me to the vaccines that have come out of Cuba, Canada, Venezuela, Norway, Sweden or any other of your glorified healthcare systems?
That's just 1 example out of thousands of medical innovations that have come through the United States of America because of our system.
oh and frick you commie, frick you you disingenuous piece of shite.

The notion that all the issues with our public schools are caused by a lack of funding and that MORE money will solve everything is a joke.
It's almost like throwing money at schools that underperform has already been tried and still didn't work.

Can you list the countries that have better overall healthcare than we do here in the US?

Once they overthrow the Cuban government, hopefully we will lift the ridiculous embargo on Cuban goods (cigars specifically). I have to order mine from Switzerland.

Poor Spleen . First East Germany and The Soviet Union. Then the death of a dream in Venezuela .Now this. Oh well, nothing a little State murder can’t fix .

I would love to see democracy come to Cuba... And remain in the United States.

Yes please.

quote:Yeah, take your "roads" example. The US government takes tax money from the people, which you seem to think is the key element of "socialism." The government then takes that money and bids out contracts to private companies in a process that is DESIGNED to be as competitive as possible, after which money is given to said private companies in contracts for road construction.
Blue i can guarantee you have no idea what socialism is and just use it as a buzzword
No part of that is socialism. You are, in fact, dumb.

Also of course it's socialism just like the police, military, fire department, public roads, social security, are also forms of socialism.
Learn the difference between a "public good" and a "private good".
The Govt providing "public goods" like police, water, fire, K-12 education, etc is not socialism.
Socialism is the public/govt provision of "private" or "non public goods".
