Stop putting computers in cars. The best cars in history had zero semiconductors.

You know how to salve the Catalytic converter theft problem?

Look at all those Land Rovers covered in snow.
As unreliable as the Bronco is....it would have to get much worse to touch Land Rover.

12 ga lead injections applied liberally to the individuals affecting the area.

Yep. No more CCs - they’re bad for performance

It can’t be good mechanically for them to sit this long can it?
I would think the valve seals are going to dry up and crack, leading to a bunch of oil consuming, smoking 2022 vehicles.

How many years ago is 2021?

I wonder what the missing chip does? We went to the Mercedes Benz dealership this past Monday. Like all car manufacturers, they also have chip shortage issues. We were looking at a 2022 AMG CLA35 in their supply chain, all of them come with a $700 credit because there is no powered driver seat due to the missing chip. The wife's C300 should be here in about a month.
The Porsche dealership wanted a ten percent premium on a base model Macan. Nope, frick off.

The demand will still be there so dealers can sell above MSRP.

With the longevity of car life now, there is really no need to produce how many we did before 2020. Engines are designed to go into the hundreds of thousands miles. We just buy cars to keep up with our neighbors and get further in debt. It is nice to break that cycle.
I agree. I know people that will trade in a vehicle before it gets 50,000 miles on it or trade when a new body style or option comes out. They have to have the latest and greatest.
I just got an 2021 Ranger a couple of weeks ago. I told myself that I wouldn’t get anything new due to the inflation of prices but the truck only had 5,500 miles on it and the dealership actually had it listed well below current book value. With my trade, I was able to get the truck about the same price as it if was priced before the shortage/inflation. Still felt the price was high but I guess I can’t complain about getting practically a brand new truck under 30K. Biggest reason I got something is because my little beater car finally quit and my full size truck was killing on gas.

I ordered a F-250 Tremor in Dec, the dealer said it would probably be May before I see it.

Yes there is. It's called consumer demand.
Do people need to replace their car every three years? Of course not. Do they want to? Yes, a large percentage do.
This is the worst possible time to buy a new car yet the other day the local dealer got 3 Blazers in and they were all sold by the next day.
Prior to this shortage Blazers were not selling well at all. Now they are sold as they roll off the truck as people want something new.
And that’s why goods are poorly made and don’t last yet cost more and more. Coupled with low interest rates and social media, no one has any incentive to save and buy quality products. Just new new new new and right now.

No, they don't.

Serious Q: Can I buy one @ a discount and go source my own chips from newer totaled vehicles from say Co-Part?
*Even once they get caught up, they'll still sell these cars as 'new' and what unknown issues will they have from sitting in the harsh Michigan elements for 2+ years???
