Entitled lazy POS - let them go find other jobs, if they can.

And that they will. Passing interviews and getting in the door for Amazon is incredibly difficult and once you have that stamp of approval there will be no issues finding other employment. That’s what gives them this leverage. People round here getting salty about successful tech workers

Well, yea. When people get used to working from the comfort of their own home. They aren't going to be excited to waste gas money on coming back into the office

That's not a great move considering the amount of people being laid off and fired across the country.

Idiots.

Well, at least there is one person in this thread that actually works with offshore resources.

I manage offshore resource and have for years. You can't see what they're doing, you can't fire them as they work for a different company, you know they are lying to you and you can't prove it... yeah offshore is great, tell me more.

Instead of talking to Suzy about her dog and how it has cancer I can focus work. You have no idea the amount of time wasting that gets done in the office until you've been away from it for a long time and then go back. The drive by chit chat and water cooler talk is maddening.

So instead of talking to Suzy about her dog you can talk to your dog, watch tv, play with your kids, shoot the shite with the mailman... C'mon bro it aint that simplistic.

"Can you build this in X hours?"

"Yes."

"Are you aware of the root cause of these issues?"

"Yes."

"Can you fix them?"

"Yes."

"Even though your code barely works with the loosest definition of work?"

"Yes."

"Do you ever say anything besides yes?"

(Slight pause) "Yes."

This was literally my conversation today with three Italian engineers. Except the code part. Also they say "Yes-ah".

We have a customer in Philly on the conf call and he texts me "I dont think they understand what I want". The consternation is real.

Man, why didn't you tell me it was so fricking awesome out here.

I should have moved to this part of the country years ago.

I'm pretty sure I told everyone that.

You get up to Riggins or the area yet?

Nah, we haven't really had a chance to get out yet. Too busy looking for houses and such. Just closed on a house, so once we get settled it'll be pretty much a hiking/camping trip every weekend until it gets too cold for the wife, then I'll just go out and hunt Mulies and Pronghorn.

Going to get my feet back under me hunting before I tackle Elk.

That's what I said, isn't it? Good place for trout, too. Bring a pistol and bear spray.

A relative of mine works for them, and he feels as if it’s not going to work. Too many people have moved and bought houses far from the Amazon campuses.
He says that Amazon knows this, and it’s just their way of getting them to quit.

For sure, but some people still look at you odd when you carry bear spray to breakfast at Loula's.

They should fire everyone who refuses to come back.

These libtards are replaceable.

They are learning day by day that they aren't important and needed as they thought they were.
