Went to eat lunch at a local quick service restaurant. Order at the counter and sit yourself. Sitting facing the windows and the sun was bright. I wanted to put my sunglasses on but I was afraid of looking like a douche, maybe on the same level as wearing my sunglasses on the back of my neck.

Is it ever acceptable to wear your sunglasses inside in public?

It's generally pretty douchey. If it was exceptionally bright, I guess it would be understandable.

Does it matter? Wear em if you want.

Unless you have migraines or glaucoma, then sunglasses inside is trashy.

Some of you are so damn pathetic. It's a shame breathing is involuntary.

That happened to me recently and had the same thought. There were no other tables available, the sun was doing some Jedi mind tricks on me, so I wore them inside.

Like Larry David said, “ you know who wears sunglasses indoors? Blind people and assholes.”

This. If the sun is on my face to the point where I have to squint, I'm putting my sunglasses on, regardless of where I am. And zero fricks will be given on what anyone thinks about, in the restaurant or on this site.

I asked one of our regulars one day why he always wears sunglasses inside, no matter what the weather is outside. He said he gets headaches from florescent lighting.

If you need to shade your eyes from sun, wear them. That's what they're for. Completely different than someone wearing them indoors at night.
