Thoughts on the 13th gate

Was good as far as haunted houses go.
DEFINITELY pay the extra VIP fee to skip the line though and one package includes that and the cemetery tour across the street.
Was worth it all in all. Just set your expectations low.

Our kids didn't want to go, but the wife had paid for the tickets, so their asses went.
Their screams told me that it was all worth it. The little one is so cute. She keeps asking if that is where bad people go when they die.

do they still do a moving scare towards the end?
I know one year it was a train, one year it was a boulder and another it was a car. You know it's not real but it gets you anyway.
Used to go to the Gate every year since it was at the Barn on campus, (which I think is gone now)

The first time you go through the 13th gate is the best. Watch out for the mirror section though, I ran straight fricking into a wall my first time going through it. Was a blast in 7th-8th grade, but haven't been since

The additional congestion used to annoy the frick out of me when we exited campus northbound after games. We go the other direction now, so carry on with your little Halloween skit, Baton Rouge townies.

House of shock was always more satanic but not scary. The actors/employees suck at participating and playing their role.

The alligator that comes out at you in the Cajun scene hit me in the balls when I was looking at something else. Thought I lost the left one. Scariest thing that happened there

If you do decide to go, Costco has a VIP ticket to the house and the cemetery for $40. I think the same ticket through 13th gate is $65 or so. I bought 4 for a friend of mine that doesn't have a Costco card.

I haven't been to House of shock but i am going halloween weekend. I think 13th gate is pretty good. I also lik The Mortuary in nola. Best haunted house i have been to so far was Eli Roth's haunted hotel in vegas!
