Know a lady that makes a big deal about using fluoride-free toothpastes and also drinks almost nothing but various hot and cold teas. Tea is a hyperaccumulator of fluoride. I don't have the heart to point out the obvious contradiction in her choices.

its absolutely insane to me why anyone would think we need to add a bunch of unnecessary crap to our water and believe it benefits us.

When was the last time you drank actual straight water out of the ground? Do you assume that all ground water is good for human consumption? No matter what we drink, humans have done something to it most of the time.

I just think its fairly hilarious people get this upset over it. Its really a nothingburger in the grand scheme of things.

Here is what the experts at Johns Hopkins say. If you care about facts & evidence more than political spin, you should read this: https://publichealth.jhu.edu/2024/why-is-fluoride-in-our-water

From the artilce:

quote:

The NTP monograph concluded, with moderate confidence, that higher levels of fluoride exposure, such as drinking water containing more than 1.5 milligrams of fluoride per liter, are associated with lower IQ in children. The NTP review was designed to evaluate total fluoride exposure from all sources and was not designed to evaluate the health effects of fluoridated drinking water alone. It is important to note that there were insufficient data to determine if the low fluoride level of 0.7 mg/L currently recommended for U.S. community water supplies has a negative effect on children’s IQ.

That’s a weird melt dude. Over fluoride in our drinking water at that!
I’ve never heard of that doctor so I’m not quoting him.
But the information is out there and it’s easy to find so why don’t you go educate yourself a little bit and get some facts before you further demonstrate your ignorance on a message board.
If you are able, you might learn something useful.

Well, he did. He researched the facts you mentioned, found information, returned and asked you a question that questioned what you stated. You then chose to flip out and start name calling instead of looking into the voracity of what he says.

In short, it seems more like you're the one having the weird melt.

See the study on micro plastics. Filtered tap water is better.
