Specifically the 007 009 491 and 207?

Just wondering if the can hold up to daily abuse? Or if there are any other options in that price range.

Will likely wear straps:

From what I understand, they are probably the best automatic watches you will find in their price range -- if you can even find another one in their price range.

Solid watches.

I have the SKX Pepsi on a red, white, and blue NATO. That one gets more comments than any other watch I own.

I like my diver model. Keeps perfect time. No problems swimming with it. Beat the hell out of it on a long atv ride, no problem.

You really can't go wrong with a Seiko, I think they look great with a NATO...an "Orange Monster" with a rubber strap is probably next on my list.

Yes they will hold up. I have owned probably 8 different ones and still have a 007 that I love.

For the price these are probably the best watches on the market in terms of durability and wear. And they look nice. I like mine on rubber mostly.

Thanks guys. My beater watch has been a so cheapo casio. But I'd like something slightly nicer for walking around.

I have been wearing the black face divers you linked with a steel band for years. Good sturdy, accurate watch and it won't break the bank.

basically whats already been sold, it's a great watch

read a review one time that said

"It's the watch you want to have one when overthrowing hte government of a small Central American Country. Mine has been though hell and back and looks fresh and keeps perfect time after years of abuse. You don't hand this watch down, you are buried with it"."

It's a great watch, although mine runs about -20, which is less than ideal, but within spec.

I use to buy them all the time.
They would last on avg of around 3 to 4yrs before they would die.
I would wear them to work, on the farm, fishing, hunting, and then drop it in the jewelry cleaner to clean them to wear when going out.
The were durable watches.

I have two. I have had one for ten years, and still runs like a champ. Never got a non-metal band though, couldn't tell you.

They are comparable to Citizen.

I've had my "black bullet" for almost ten years, & I love it. All I've had to do is replace the rubber dive band once. I'm actually thinking of changing to a strap soon.

I wear mine all the time, but I was thinking I may want a more dressy watch for the occasions wear I have to wear suits & formal duds. Does a dive watch clash w/ stuff like that?

I worse a Seiko Orange Monster with my tux in my wedding, so I'm probably not the guy to ask.

But if you want a dressier watch, check out the Orient Bambino, I have one and really like it.

I have this Black Monster:

and this solar:

and I love them both. Bullet proof watches at a price I can afford.

I'm getting the Pepsi Diver next month:

Bought my Seiko DX in the PX in Ft Lewis, WA in 1971. Has been to hell and back with me and still runs great. Last time I had it serviced I had to send it to the seikodepot in NJ. I think the service bill was nearly what I originally paid for it. I guess it is 45 years old now.
