My sister's family goes to Disney 7-8 times a year. She claims it is for their kid, but she would 100% be a cringe Disney adult if she didn't have a child.

I have been once in 2021 and I will NEVER go back.

suspended adolescence

Nature says you cannot rush development…like many latch key kids were an example of.

Hit the right nurture along the development journey, else create future adult who wears underwear with Darth Vader on the crotch.

What is going on here? Is the theme of this park associated with a movie? It just looks like a European city to me.

ETA ChatGPT explanation for others who weren’t aware

Epic Universe is a brand-new theme park developed by Universal Orlando Resort, officially opened in May 2025. It’s their fourth theme park in Florida (after Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay) and represents one of the most ambitious expansions in theme park history.

Key Features of Epic Universe:
• Massive Size: Covers over 750 acres — more than doubling the size of Universal Orlando Resort.
• Immersive “Worlds”: Epic Universe is designed around individual themed lands, each with its own entrance and immersive environment.

Confirmed Lands:
1. Super Nintendo World
• Features rides and attractions based on Mario, Donkey Kong, and other Nintendo characters.
• Includes Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and a Donkey Kong mine cart coaster.
2. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
• A new Harry Potter-themed area centered on the magical government, blending elements from both the main series and the Fantastic Beasts films.
3. How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
• A family-friendly land with dragon-themed rides, including a roller coaster and interactive play areas.
4. Dark Universe
• Based on Universal’s classic monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolfman.
• A darker, more intense zone with immersive storytelling and spooky attractions.
5. Celestial Park (hub area)
• A central park-like area with gardens, fountains, restaurants, and a major hotel entrance.
• Acts as the central “spoke” connecting the lands.

Other Highlights:
• On-site hotel: A luxurious hotel built directly inside the park, allowing guests to stay immersed.
• Advanced tech: Includes cutting-edge ride systems and immersive environments designed to compete directly with Disney’s best offerings.

Epic Universe is a major move by Universal to redefine the theme park experience and directly challenge Walt Disney World’s dominance in Florida.

People like what they like, who cares.

People like sports, smoking meats, riding bikes, or any countless other things.

What's worse is people being bothered by other people's interests.

Suspended adolescence is rampant. People want to live their High School and College years in perpetuity.

I’m actually pretty excited to take my nephew to Nintendo world. I got him into playing MarioKart recently

I actually really like Universal, they have the CityWalk area which is cool for adults

Definitely prefer Universal over Disney. I went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal in October and that was fun

Poking fun online does not mean IRL I let what people do bother me

I can make fun of something and still let people live their lives

IRL I am pretty chill unless something affects me or my family. I just want to be left alone and not bothered so I extend that courtesy to others.

I thought this was going to be about the Central Walmart.

If you’re ever feeling bad about yourself just go to the Central Walmart and you’ll feel much better
