What in the frick makes you think this would "thrive" in BR? You honestly think that adding a restriction that officers must live inside BR city limits is going to help them recruit more people?

You frickhead, are you too stupid to be able to read what I wrote?

Here, let me help you out, you dumb motherfricker

It's a great idea. They should absolutely encourage residents to apply but the it shouldn't be a requirement. I'm willing to go as far as offer incentives for residents to who do apply and get hired. Maybe give them first choice of extra duty in the area.

. A proposal from Councilwoman Chauna Banks aims to get officers hired to the Baton Rouge Police Department after January 2017 to live inside of the city or parish. The requirement would not extend to officers already on the force or those who get hired before the current year ends.

Banks noted that the residency requirement issue was only just introduced at Wednesday's meeting. It could be brought up again in the August meeting for members to more officially weigh in on. A vote taken during the meeting showed six members of the Metro Council who were opposed to the measure.

Chauna Banks

that woman is a fricking idiot.

So if you live outside the city limits then you can't be a cop...
Why don't they go door to door with applications in NBR & see how many people
1. Are able to complete the paperwork
2. Show up for interview/physical/drug test

Gary said they need black recruiters to get black residents to apply.

WHY???

I am an adult. I know if I want to eat I need a job.
I know being a cop is a job. If I wanted to be a cop I would apply for a job being a cop.

Are the good citizens of NBR are too stupid to figure out they can apply for any job they want?

I find it ironic how the areas of BR with the highest crime rates complain about the police being in their neighborhood too much or the type of officer policing them, while the neighborhoods with lower crime rates pay out of pocket to have any police officer avail to perform extra duty patrols in their neighborhood. In my neighborhood , most of our dues are used for this purpose. We have Caucasian and African American officer who work the detail. No one cares who works it, we just want them there.

According to WBRZ, the Metro Council opposed the residency requirements as of 1:19 pm on today. Gary is over 2 hours late, LOL!!

OK since you want to play that game you retard frick... I wasn't replying to your "blah blah blah... but it shouldn't be a requirement" post. I was replying to the post where your dumbass said that a restriction where you live in order to become a BRPD officer could possibly thrive in this area.

You really are a dumb shite.

Here's some more info for you to dwell on you stupid fricking twat:

quote:

The BRPD has emphasized its challenges in attracting new officers to the police force in the past few years. In a recent interview, Chief Carl Dabadie said the department does not have the manpower for the type of community policing that many politicians have said they want to see.

quote:

Delgado said giving police pay raises is a more important issue to focus on rather than the residency requirements. He said the higher costs of living in Baton Rouge and the low salaries of police officers are part of the reason why many police officers choose to live in other parts of the parish or in other parishes.

quote:

Ryan Heck withheld judgment of the residency proposal, but wondered if it would pass legal muster and noted the recruiting difficulties the department is already having.

They already have difficulties recruiting new officers, many officers live out of city limits due to cost of living and shitty pay... but a program that restricts potential recruits further could "thrive" according to you.

No where did I say they should restrict anything. No where. You're making that shite up on your own. Stop being stupid.

Jesus you're fricking retarded. I never said that you wanted to restrict anything. I was replying to your post saying that the restriction could "THRIVE" in BR.

THIS POST RIGHT HERE, frickTARD:
quote:

So? What's your point? Baton Rouge is not New Orleans. Just because something failed in one area, does not mean it can't thrive in another. I don't know what NOPD tried but it's unfair to say because NOPD fricked it up that BRDP will suffer the same fate.

You're either dumb as frick or just trying to play word games at this point.

My wife works right across the street and she saw nothing. I called her at 3:20 to see if people were gathering. Nothing. Called an hour later and still nothing.
