Locals know about it. If anyone hits it, it’ll be an out of town person. They’ll be responsible for damages, which Ruston will use to pay for moving and upgrading pole. Sounds like a win for Ruston.

Yea, why is that pole in the middle of a busy intersection on a 10 lane highway?!

People in Ruston are such good drivers you can put a light pole in the middle of the street.

It looks like they wanted to put a median there but realized it blocked turns so they said frick it, let's pave it and put a one way sign up, because its cheaper than moving the pole.

Very odd/random post. Looks like at one time there was a grass median there with the light pole. Unless you're blind there shouldn't be any problems. Light poles right off the side of the road are just as likely to get hit.

Should they put grass around it to make it better?

They should take some pride in where they live. Looks like a drunk 12 year old designed that intersection.

Move the poles. Add two in place of one so you can get them in a median on both sides of the intersection. It's not that complicated.

At the very least the city could wrap it with a bunch of reflective DOTD tape to make it more conspicuous.

We should move Petey the stop sign over there.
