quote:If this happens to you then you need a new dishwasher. Sure maybe some things may need a rinse but overall standard stuff, no.
If you don’t rinse them first the dishwasher won’t get all the stuff off.

I have one of those same cutting boards.
That’s all I got.

That’s why we have two dishwashers in my house

I have the opposite problem, my wife stuffs it so freaking full it has no chance to work.
My wife is the same way, and my MiL is even worse.
And something else that my wife’s entire family does that pisses me off to no end, is they put loose garbage in the outside trash can that goes to the street instead of bringing it in and put it into a garbage bag inside. They’ll just throw a cup or food wrapper in there loose where it flies out and onto the street when the garbage guys empty the can into the truck.

According to that commercial I saw one time, that small load used less water than you handwashing the dishes.

I’ll happily brag about having one. We love ours.
Problem is it’s rarely full because it’s bigger inside (and more efficient in space) than our old one.

At least you have a dishwasher :( We've been handwashing for years because we live in Boston and our house is like a gazillion years old.

Now that we have two kids and eat at home 99.9999% of the time, I just run that bitch every night. I'll find random shite to throw in there if is isn't full. Like a cat.
Same here. Our toddler drinks milk from sippy cups, and there's no way I'm not cleaning those every day. One time last year it was only half full top rack and bottom rack, and I said I'd do it tomorrow. Opened it the next morning to put something in, and someone (either wife or daughter, no pics on either) hadn't rinsed the milk cup out. Just dumped what was left in the sink and put the dirty cup in there. Truly a horrible smell. Now they get rinsed with hot water and a little dawn before they even go in there.
I can usually get the top full between our coffee cups, kids cups, and small bowls. If the bottom isn't full I'm running it anyways.

Honestly, I've probably used a dishwasher a maximum of 5 times in my entire life.
Call me an OT poor. But growing up we never ever had a workings dishwasher. All I knew was handwashing. When I got to college and moved into an off-campus apartment, that was the first time in my life I ever had a working dishwasher. My roommates had to teach me had to use it. I tried a few times, but habits are hard to break, so I went back to old faithful.
Meanwhile fast forward to now, my wife absolutely RERUSES to handwash things. She likes to load it up real full so that nothing else can squeeze in there. I don't have a problem with that necessarily. But when unloading dishwasher I noticed some dishes still aren't really clean to my liking, I figure what's the point in using one to begin with.

Check the filter in the bottom of your dishwasher if you want to be disgusted
