This is the proper way to deal with someone trying to steal your Jet Ski

It's bullshite that boobytraps are illegal but it appears to me the owner just happened to park his jet skit next to a sink hole.

I seriously don't know.. Are booby traps really illegal if on your property?
What if someone has gas cans that are filled up and someone steals them. A few days later when they filled them up again they were stolen again so the next time they filled them up with half and half.. half gas/half water. Is something like that illegal?

That's not a booby trap. A booby trap is like the video and they are illegal because they can cause injury

I like it, but that is also probably illegal.
And the practical aspect of it - good chance that the only things that would end up in that hole would my dog or me. Or possibly even the trailer when I back it into the hole.

When I was a kid, I set a booby trap in my room with fishing line and other objects to try to trap my siblings/parents. I’m the only one that set it off - tripped on the line running full speed, hit my head on dresser, got concussion and stitches. Haha

I did this in college. Had a perpetually drunk roommate that was always trying to sneak up on me. Gotta study every once in a while...
Anyway I hooked a fishing line to the door, ran it along the ceiling and down the wall behind my desk. I tied it to a crumbled up ball of paper. Whenever he quietly opened the door I see the paper move and turn around.
It worked good for months, he honestly thought he was losing his touch. Then he found it. Dude eventually got kicked out of school for being arrested something like 10 times for public intox minor.
