A good one in the article

Been there for years...not sure I would say I fully left the middle class necessarily though.
When my accountant explained the need for quarterly payments to the government years ago, it was mind blowing. God help me if I underestimate what I owe quarterly (business or personal quarterly).

Yea those thresholds seem off and more like the higher ends of upper class

1. Asset Diversification: You have multiple streams of income and a diversified investment portfolio.
2. Passive Income: Most of your income comes from investments, assets, or a business rather than a salaried job.
3. Education for Children: You can easily afford private schooling or higher education for your children without financial strain.
4. Healthcare: You have access to premium healthcare services and can afford elective procedures.
5. Vacations: You take multiple breaks a year, possibly to international destinations, without worrying about the cost.
6. Networking: You have connections with influential people in your industry or other sectors.
7. Home Ownership: You own your home, possibly multiple homes or properties, not just your primary residence.
8. Tax Planning: You have a tax strategist or financial advisor to optimize wealth.
9. Charitable Giving: You make significant philanthropic contributions, either in time, money, or both.
10. Leisure Activities: You engage in high-cost hobbies or leisure activities without concern for the expense.
11. No Debt: You have little to no consumer debt and a robust credit score.
12. Retirement Planning: You’re not just saving for retirement; you’re actively planning for wealth transfer.
13. Time Flexibility: You can choose how you spend your time rather than being tied to a 9-5 job.
14. Personal Services: You can afford personal services like a housekeeper, private chef, or personal trainer.
15. Limited Budgeting Requirements: Daily expenses and budgeting are relatively low compared to your income or net worth.
All of this is easily achievable to most everyone if they plan for the future and don't live for today.
Look, don't think the big corporations that own this country and world didn't lobby to have civics and economics removes from lower education curriculums for no reason.
Keeping their workers in debt and dependant on shitty jobs has been the single most profitable decision these people have made since the harnessing of electricity.

Our private schools aren’t crazy expensive though so I guess it doesn’t mean much
What’s the rate y’all pay in LA? It’s ~$30k/year for each kid at our good private schools in Birmingham.

Everyone in the OT has three of these

No one currently in middle class is moving up with democrats in charge of the country.

Your dick has a personal trainer. Your right hand.

Essentially all of those are in the works at varying levels. Some are maybe 10% there, others 75%, a couple check the box for 100% but it's ever expanding. I am mid 30s and within 10 years, I should be able to check every box and closing out number 3 and 13 by then.

That’s about what it is in New Orleans. At least the better schools.

I’m good on the vast majority of those items; I didn’t see anything about Libertarianism, Veganism, or CrossFit participation though….

I got rice cooking in the microwave
Got a three day beard I don't plan to shave
And it's a goofy thing but I just gotta say
Hey, I'm doing alright
Yeah I think I'll make me some homemade soup
Feelin' pretty good and that's the truth
It's neither drink nor drug induced

I had some of these, but then had to relocate for work and buy a house in a “hot market” with high interest rates. Now my family’s only hope of financial independence is my untimely demise.
