I saw this earlier on the net. Brave little bugger he was, and hat's off to him for his attitude.

I liked the part where he wanted to come back as a gorilla and throw poop at his dad.

Death is a biological function. Our spirits/souls are what are intended to live on.

Do people really think we will look like we do in heaven as we do on earth?

This ^

Satan runs the planet and he hates us all. It’s cursed. This is where Christians are supposed to be salt and light. We suck, but we are supposed to be the salt and light bringing hope to the world. It’s just a temporary home.

You say this but considering God is "all knowing" then he knew before he made Adam and Eve that they would sin and since he made them anyway that must have been part of his plan too.

A being with the ability to be all knowing could choose not to be all knowing

I never fully grasp this reasoning.
Death exists. Life is fragile and tenuous. Cancer, meningitis, car crashes, snake bites, murder, inexplicable accidents, crocodile attacks in Australia, and a multitude of other causes kill men, women, children, people of faith, the irreligious, good people, and evil people day in and day out, 24-7.

Your logic demands God intervene in select situations and stop death in its tracks. Your reasoning, to be consistent, should apply to an adult just as much as it should to a five year old. Sadly things don't work this way. People die physically.

I'm not insensitive to your point because I comment on this as a parent whose oldest daughter died a good many years ago.

My Faith and hope and comfort in this is that eternal death and eternal separation from God has been destroyed by Christ's Incarnation, Crucifixion, Death, and Resurrection.

If this child is living in a state happiness that is going to last forever, he’s probably smiling about trading 9 months of extreme discomfort for 70+ years of infinitely subpar existence on Earth.

There are arguments against God, but early death/discomfort isn’t one of them.

God is all knowing, but He also cannot act against His nature and interfere with man’s free will. Because He is all knowing, He had the plan from the beginning to send a Savior.

Nah, it was something reserved for only God, and also became an opportunity for Adam & Eve to show trust and love through obedience. Btw, who ever said it was an apple?

Death has existed since long before humans evolved. It is clearly not the result of anything called sin.

A know-it-all on a sports message board telling God how things oughta be. You just can't make this stuff up!

Sure you can. People have been making up stuff about deities for millenia.

the ugliness of the world is the consequence of sin.

No, it's not. All the world's hardships - death, disease, natural disasters, etc. - were waiting on us when we evolved.

quote:

I think Heaven is wishful thinking.

quote:

Satan runs the planet and he hates us all. It’s cursed.

I pity you. All the beauty in this world and a very short time to enjoy it and you think it's cursed by some boogeyman invented by ignorant desert dwellers who lived thousands of years ago.

quote:

Christians ask this all the time in prayer. And if a person recovers, they believe God did it. If a person doesn't, then it was God's will. And in neither case do you actually see God do anything and He is never blamed when things go wrong. If anything, Christians will blame themselves or their ancestors.

It's the easiest job in the world.
