Because I would Argue to the extent any of us have “European” culture it varies as much as the culture countries in Europe vary.

Irish Americans, to the extent they’re irish, are not similar to Italian Americans, to the extent they’re itialian, or polish Americans, to the extent they are polish.

Our European roots don’t really bind us, as much as our American roots do, and even those are regional.
