Some of you need to read the 1st amendment and stop acting like it applies to private companies like Twitter or Amazon.

What does this have to do with twitter? The government can't come after you for protected speech, no matter what medium (public or through a private entity) is used.

Delicious irony. It's been really enlightening watching the likes of you, toddy, and thetempleowl wake up to how far left the left has drifted. These people were your team just a few short years ago.

How did he prevent them from voting?

That's for the prosecutors to prove. I'm just citing the law that this guy was arrested for violating.

That’s basically what a meme is. And he’s being charged with a a crime for it.

Pssst. I’ve never been a leftist. And I have post history going back nearly a decade to prove it.

Maybe you should look in a mirror for a bit if your approach is to label everyone who isn’t in complete lockstep with your particular flavor of dogma a “leftist”

Is this thread about Twitter/Amazon firing an employee? Because if it's not, I'm confused what your point is, especially considering the post you quoted doesn't mention the first amendment

Look how many idiots we have on this forum. Now consider the fact this board on average is far, far more educated than the average US citizen.

This is actually a very good point.

How has this not been applied to Antifa or protestors blocking highways/streets? It would appear to apply to them as well. Since this was from the 2016 election, maybe they're just REALLY behind and are trying to catch up and will get there eventually.

18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights
quote:

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

Because their right to protest and riot supersedes your rights, because reasons.

He posted a meme and now faces a criminal charge.

Explain in detail how posting that meme (or any meme) threatened the right to vote for anyone.

You first need to explain why you're being intentionally obtuse.

Unless you really are this dumb. Those are the only two options here.

The idiots that texted him the vote should never be allowed to vote again.

And what he did isnt against the law.

And let me restate that post for clarity. If he intentionally posted a meme to directly misinform a class of voters on the voting process, there should be punishment for that.

So basically the entire democrat party

I'm curious as to how their status as a voter changed by the posting/tweeting/retweeting of an image on twitter.

You forgot to log out of your alter.

As a registered voter, if I saw the meme the person mentioned in the OP posted or was even stupid enough to text the number....would I have lost my right to vote?
