And let me restate that post for clarity. If he intentionally posted a meme to directly misinform a class of voters on the voting process, there should be punishment for that.

What if "he" was a corporation. Instead of a meme, what if he posted thousands of hours of misinformation spreading conspiracy theories about Russian hookers and a specific candidate, and non-specific theories about election interference. Should there be punishment for that?

They could be stupid enough to text the number and still vote if they were registered and showed up to the polls on time . Nothing was stopping them from voting.

Ignoring the stupidity of this hypothetical person, what if that voter assumed he/she had already voted based on what this meme communicated to him/her? You can say that person is too stupid to vote, but that doesn't excuse the potential illegality of the meme, nor do our voter laws even have an IQ test.

Was it Trump supporters (who I've been told are very stupid and would believe anything) that fell for this?

That’s just typical stupid trump voters. They deserve it.

If you can't understand that slippery slope, then perhaps you don't deserve to vote either.

Their interpretation of a statement doesn't change their status as a voter. They can still vote.

The argument is that it violates people's right to vote. It did no such thing. They could still vote if they were legal, registered voters.

There was a case of a guy who followed Joe Biden's advice of firing a double barreled shotgun into the air when he thought someone was on his property. He got charged for it. Is that Joe Biden's fault? I guess Joe should be charged.

All this shite is a major overreaction. They don’t want anyone publicly questioning the legitimacy of the elections... after the other side just went four years, non-stop with accusations of a rigged election in 2016. The Deep State seems hellbent on suppressing any discussion—and evidence—of Deep State rigged elections. Anyone who isn’t disturbed by this and suspicious of this shite is either naive as frick or biased so much against Trump that they don’t care.

No, the argument is it suppressed their vote. If they thought they had already voted because of this meme, their vote was suppressed.

CREATIVITY IS NO LONGER ALLOWED

They killed comedy. May as well kill everything else that's amusing.

Yes. It's completely fake komrade.

Intent is the only thing that matters here.

I have yet to see any proof of intent in the indictment but I haven’t read it entirely.

Only stuff I’ve seen thus far is the accused and his buddies talking about how good he is at “making memes” and how many followers he has and how many people will see it.

Nothing about “I hope all those stupid Hillary voters do this instead, spread it everywhere as much as you can”

But leftist orgs do that... with no repurcussions. You had the urban league and black activist groups in the last Louisiana gubernatorial election telling people that Eddie Rispone and a Trump were the equivalent of David Duke And the KKk... They left door hanger pamphlets and political signs around New Orleans and Baton Rouge stating Rispone was “going to take your food stamps away” etc etc etc. Not one person behind any of that shite was held accountable for it. The media gave JBE’s campaign a pass on all that shite and outright lies stated in his campaign ads.

Agreed, and I've been pretty careful to include some version of the word "intent" in most of my posts.
