Meh. It’s fine, I got all the motifs and their thematic/symbolic meaning. Those were great.
The thesis for this piece is a B at best. I have many comments, but it’s clear that Glover is very talented. He thinks, but he still appeals to a weaker audience than he needs to if he wants to be taken seriously.

Teflon Don doing rap from the grave?

It's really based on his versatility. He is very talented. He's a personable guy, very down to earth, also very eclectic and weird.
He's a rapper, singer (albeit not a good one), songwriter, music producer and video director. If he wanted to he could be a giant in the music industry. But that is not where he puts all his effort into.
He's a comedian. He also writes, directs, and stars in his own show. Has been in multiple movies as well.
His style may not be your taste, and that is fine. But you can't deny that the man is talented.

I see what you mean. Fame doesn't solve problems. and he can't go anywhere without being recognized at this point.

It's a great video I think I've watched it 6 or 7 times since Saturday. For all the love Donald Glover is deservedly getting I think Hiro Murai also deserves some. He has had a really great year directing several episodes of Atlanta, Barry and the This is America video.

Like the song/beat. Interesting video. People getting offended by it need to chill. Both sides.

I think it's a pretty creative video.

I love it. At the beginning when he just coup de grâce that dude into the beat dropping.. shite was tight yo.

Wouldn't LD be a white Childish Gambino?
Gambino is a much better lyricist than LD, but their styles are way better than most of the mumble rap shite out now.

I have never seen a greater spectacle of trite nothingness than that arthouse victimhood propaganda. For the last 45 years the black community has been a victim of Democrat policy, not whitey.

He also grew up insanely rich. Parents are wealthy. He's never been through "the struggle".
Really talented guy though. Enjoyed his character on Community.

People at work keep talking about this.
Why do people care so much?
This is nothing. Many white folks lost their shite when frick the Police and Cop Killer came out.
And they didn't even have a church Facebook group to get worked up on back then.

Looked like black on black crime to me. Kinda numb to it.
