Happened to me in Atlanta. I was rear ended and he ran off. The cops made a report and didn’t do anything. I claimed it under my uninsured motorist policy.

Not all states consider hit & run as uninsured. Others have specific stipulations like it must be reported to the police.
Since he is in Louisiana he can’t even have uninsured motorist property damage on his policy if he has collision. It’s statutorily not allowed to have both UMPD and collision coverage.

File a claim, send the insurance company the pics as well as the Police, and hope for the best.
I would not lose sleep over a situation like this since I am properly insured. I'd rather pay $500 and move on than devote all my time and energy to catching the SOB, unless he killed or hurt a family member.

go to TikTok and made a video of your fragile self crying and hopeless, and let everyone know that you are a victim.
Then, start a Go Fund Me page asking for money to support all of the therapy that you will need in the future.
After that, start a support group for people who have experienced their first fender bender.
