The housing crisis was set for explosion on Clinton's watch with him signing the repeal of Glass-Steagal. The democrats ignored the Bush administration's 17 warnings about the coming crisis and laughed it off. Obama inherited nothing as his do-nothing arse was in the Senate as those warnings were issued.
What did Clinton inherit? An economy that was growing and he fell arse-backwards into the mainstreaming of the internet. The economy was headed down as he left office.

Obama didn't do shite to "turn the country around."
The division we see now started (or at least became more pronounced) while he was in office. Remember the "If I had a son" shite?
