Bringing well behaved kids to a college class every so often is a good experience. They can develop of sense of what learning will entail as they get older. It also may push their interest in achieving.

Do it. Bring something to keep him quiet just in case but if it was a class I was teaching I wouldn't mind.

General Studies student. It got me out of foreign language, but my studies have been business, economics, and management. I will have completed my associates and bachelor's in three years. Still have education credits left and pondering an MBA.

i've had students bring well-behaved kids to class, and it never bothered me.
i always appreciated the student letting me know ahead of class, just as a heads up. just let your prof know what's up, and why there's an 8 year old is sports econ today. as long as the prof isn't a total jerk, should be no problem.

I had a student try to bring their friends to a Friday afternoon lab.
Spring break started after the lab was over.
I couldn't allow it because of safety issues.

For some reason I remember this, but in a summer class I had.. The instructor brought her 6 or 7ish year old kid to class.
It was a smaller class. She sat him in the front row in the desk closes to her. She must have giving him a real good talking to because I don't think the kid said anything the whole time... But if I recall we got out a little early because he was getting antsy.
