Visiting family and looking to kill a couple of days time doing things by myself when they're at work.

This is during the week.

If you enjoy beer there are a lot of fun breweries in town.

Fishings been pretty good when the weather is nice.

Tons of breweries that offer pretty sweet tours. Lot of them have pretty good food now too.

Think the Rockets might be in town during your stay.

If the museum thing is for you, tons of that. Art Museum normally has some kind of interesting exhibit.

Could go play some golf if the weather works out. Give it two days after rain. Absolute ton of courses to choose from if you dont mind driving/paying

Go to Chinatown and eat 1 item at every restaurant there. Dumplings for days!

Go to Taqueria Arandas at 2 am drunk, get a pastor torta and a shrimp cocktail and listen to the mariachi band!

[edit] you can also go there sober at any time of the day, they have great Mex-Tex food

Traffic within the loop isn't even that bad. I think the average person on this board thinks Katy and the Woodlands = Houston

Ask your family for ideas. Or, at least give us some details about what you like to do, which part of town your family lives, how far you're willing to drive, etc. There is too much to do here for just a couple of days during work hours. Help us narrow it down.
