I have a couple of friends who will text me something the answer for which would be much quicker to say in a phone call, so I call but they don't answer. Instead they keep texting turning what should have been a 30 second phone conversation into a 5 minute text chain

I do the same. Or "Hahaa."

I hav never typed out "lol" as a legitimate response in my life. Only times were making fun of someone or typing it here to get the emoticon.

The worst offenders of all within the greater grammatical punctuation world are the people that use ellipses at the end of a normal sentence, especially in text messages. I realize text messages are fairly informal and grammar isn't the highest of priorities, but this one really bothers me. I used to hunt with a guy that would end every single sentence he sent in a text with an ellipsis. We had a falling out over a few different things, but that shite used to drive me fricking bananas. I would make fun of him for it often. He claimed "that's just the way I write texts". I told him it made him look even dumber than he already was.

I like that one, and agree with you on that. I do use ellipses more than most, but I do use them appropriately.

The fact that nobody in my company knows what CST means when scheduling meetings.

They will put "I'm available at 1:00 PM CST" even when we are on CDT (Daylight Time) like we are right now.

I always assumed CST = Central Standard Time.

What is Central Daylight Time?

Using the word "literally" but whatever they said didn't actually happen.

Isn't there a username on TD that is "LiterallyPolice" and he jumps into threads calling out this exact thing? It's one of my favorite schticks on here.

PM Dawn snap: For those that remember these threads, yes this still pisses me off. In the song I'd Die Without You by PM Dawn, there are snaps in the background. And every single one of them are aligned except for one. The snaps you hear at 3:28 in the video I just posted are off by a fraction of a second. And I've never understood why. While recording, were they snapping live the whole time and messed up on that one, and then just didn't feel like re-recording it correctly? Was it thrown in there on purpose to annoy people? I need answers. But every single time I hear that song it irrationally annoys me when I hear it.

Are you referring to the one beat pause in the snaps at the start of the breakdown? That’s definitely intentional to create some space before resuming the snaps.

No. It's that one of the snaps is off. Like if you snap your fingers simultaneously every time, but then on one of them, you're off by a split second. Listen to the snaps at 3:28 in the link I posted. I'm literally the only person I've ever known that's even noticed that, let alone been annoyed by it.

People that use the phrase (whether spoken or written) "being that" instead of the words "because" or "since".

UGH!

It does.

Central Daylight Time is what we are on right now in the Central Time Zone,,,, we are on Daylight savings time right now, not standard time.

LINK for reference... it even warns you that we are on CDT, not CST now.

ETA: There are people saying shite that annoys most rational people, but not as many as there used to be. Basically, whatever you post in this thread should bring on the downvotes, since most people actually aren't bothered at all by it.

- When a commercial on the TV is louder than whatever I am watching (and the other commercials).

- Sirens in a radio commercial although I don't really listen to the radio anymore.

- People who talk about things they don't keep up with or have no (or very little) knowledge on. If I hear someone talking about something and they will say something that isn't accurate at all.. It sounds as if they are just repeating something they heard, its takes everything in me to not yell out and correct them or tell them why what they said isn't accurate at all.

I know what I don't know so I don't engage in conversations about what I don't know. I'll listen because I am always willing to learn something, but I am not going to make myself look dumb by trying to sound like I know what I am talking about.

- People who constantly have bad breath.

- The whole transgender thing. I don't understand it and think its fricked up a dude who is now a girl can present themselves as a girl seeking a man.

- When people can't see that something is bullshite.

- People who think that everything they see on TV is real.
