The south traffic circle in Ellick, dear Lord have mercy
Walked away from a bad accident at that traffic circle in 1986. Cousin was driving one of those old K cars and did not yield for a gravel truck. We were not in the circle itself, but crossing north to south on that old service road that was on the west side of the circle (do not know how it is laid out now since I moved away in 87 when I graduated). Truck slammed into us just behind my door. A few inches more and I may not have come out so well. Driver was laughing "I thought I killed you". I didn't find it funny. Hot chick (forgot her name) who lived a street over saw it and gave us a ride back to my house. I realized later that day that I do not need anyone to cock block me. I was pretty good at it myself.

Yeah that old service road is still there. My mom used to live off of Prescott and Clover lane close to the circle around that time... Hope she isn't the "hot chick" you are referring to

A real boucherie. From killing the hog, to cracklins, to blood boudin and live music by Travis Matte.

Unfortunately nothing because I didn't even grow up in a town, I grew up in rural Louisiana and the nearest "town" was 10 miles away

"Cars pulling off to the side of the road and stopping when a funeral procession comes their way."
This is done in West Va too. Sometimes you'd even see a couple of country boys standing outside of their trucks with their hat off. Good stuff.

Was the concrete (culvert) dude here?
If I remember correctly this is where it was in the late 80s/early 90s. I think I have seen pics on a FB group called old images of Gonzales.
