No doubt, but that 80s nostalgia is pretty powerful for us Gen Xers. Also no doubt that they care capitalizing on Stranger Things shining a new light on it a couple of years ago. If this is even really happening. I'll believe when I see it. And I will see it.

I watched it as a kid, but a few years ago came across a YouTube video of the dialogue between Atrayu (sp) and Gmork. Gmork’s explanation of “the nothing” and why he was doing what he was doing is very applicable to the world today.
Having said that, there is no way they don’t screw this movie sideways trying to remake it. It’s a terrible idea.

Cheesy 80s kids film with god-awful SFX. This is nothing more than a nostalgia cash grab. Why don’t they remake an actual classic like American History X? I’d pay good money to see that

I disagree, I watched the shite out of this movie as a kid and I think it could actually benefit from CGI and special effects improvements.

“Reawakening” the story to cram in as much SJW bs as possible is a better description than “remake”. They don’t have enough trannies and pedo’s in the original and the furries were under represented too.
