Was he saying that depression isn't real or that the "science" around treating depression isn't real? That's two very different things. Depression is definitely a real thing, but I think the drug treatments doctors have been dolling out to treat depression for the last 30 years do not work AT ALL. I think they are designed to make people passively accept conditions which are untenable. People are depressed because they are living lives that are incongruent with their nature, their desires, and their aspirations. Rather than help address this and get people on the path to a lifestyle that will be more fulfilling for them, to address the voids in their lives, they are instead fed a cocktail of drugs to make them not worry about it so f&%king much. The void doesn't go away when you stop looking at it. You can't hakuna matada away what is essentially cancer.
