All you have to do is disable the cellular connection.
You can. However, if enough people do that they will do some reprogramming preventing the car from starting if it has no connection for X number of starts or a set period of time.
Basically if the car detects the cellular link has been disconnected, your car will no longer work.
The Feds will mandate it.

Also, with ICE vehicles it's far easier to work around such systems, including replacing the entire ECU with an aftermarket unit.
Have fun getting your factory gauges, and a lot of other things, to work when replacing the ECU with aftermarket.
Smarter would be to get a Chevy Squarebody and not worry about it.

This is the most lucid post in this thread. The push to EV is coupled with the forthcoming depopulation.

My Audi has enough electrical gremlins that even with a gas engine it manages to become completely useless

The expectation is that the EVs will have greater connectivity than ICE - tho ICE is likely following close behind.
This means that entities other than the owner can communicate with the vehicle. They can update software, disable/enable features or kill it.
As others have said, get a vehicle that does not have any built-in connectivity.

I swear there’s a huge market for computer-less cars. Definitely ones without any kind of network connectivity.
I was thinking that with this chip shortage, a manufacturer could start one without all the computer mumbo-jumbo, and outsell the competition. They could even use the fact that they could never be remotely disabled as a selling point. I would buy one. The fewer gadgets, the less likely one is to break. Like my old washing machine i keep fixing rather than buy a newfangled one that doesn’t even get the clothes as clean.

SO bizarre you're obsession with Tate here, and avoiding the plethora of conspiracies being pushed into the mainstream by your own people. Tate seems to have become the latest pop fad for you left wing bubble types.
I commented in a thread about Andrew Tate. Who by the way, I’d never heard of until this thread.
But a quick google search it is apparent this guy is a total douchebag moron.

if it's between the lies of a douche bag dickwad Andrew Tate and the lies of people who can't define what a woman is, try to convince me inflation is a good thing, or are willing to make driving an ICE impossible so i have to move to their mode of transportation, try to sell me that monkeypox is not a pandemic of gay promiscuous sex, or that i have to get a vaccine to go about my life... i will take the lies of the douche bag dickwad every time. you're welcome to call him the worse of two evils, but i don't have to agree with you.
I wasn’t aware anyone was forcing you to choose between anything

No one is trying to limit travel.
Rush Limbaugh used to say that the ability to travel freely within the borders of the United States was one of the greatest differences in what separates us from other socialistic and government controlled nations. I agree with the statement.

Find the money supply and you find the motives.
This is always true, but has no connection with your earlier statement on limiting travel. Taxes can take the place of profits from travel. And we all know where taxes go.

Any new car can be disabled

I only took it one time. Back in April 2021. So according to you I have no more than 8 years left? Why 2030? Why is that the deadline?

The solution is not to eliminate computers. The solution is to design them with open hardware and software.

Oh that's probably just a mistake. It's easy to confuse the deadline for global warming, climate climax, end of the world science data points.

the gov't has nothing better to do than control your electric cars.
I wouldn't want to bet on that.
Turning off our cars and disabling our ability to travel is long hanging fruit.
Why do you think that the democrats/pedophiles want gun confiscation? They (want to) control everything.
Just wait. In the future, parents will not have a choice over what happens to their children, dead or living.

That "they" want control and turning off your car is direct control of your life and you hate EVs so that must be their purpose even though ICE vehicles are equally controllable?

Oh, and the car manufacturers just go along with this plan even though they would never sell another vehicle ever again?

Yes, the government doesn’t want you to travel
