Why did we need a statue of Lee to do it when we already have you doing the same thing?

And we aren’t gonna do shite about it because republicans are a bunch of pussies now.

So you're saying it's not LBJ? Who's to blame then?

Thought it was already gone to be honest

It's a common theme. Small men want to tear down the monuments to great ones. There's a cancer eating at the heart and soul of this country and it won't be satisfied until nothing is left.

“I think it wiser not to keep open the sores of war but to follow the examples of those nations who endeavored to obliterate the marks of civil strife, to commit to oblivion the feelings engendered.”
~ Robert E. Lee on Confederate War Memorials
“As regards the erection of such a monument as is contemplated my conviction is, that however grateful it would be to the feelings of the South, the attempt in the present condition of the Country, would have the effect of retarding, instead of accelerating its accomplishment; of continuing, if not adding to, the difficulties under which the Southern people labor.”
~ Robert E. Lee on a proposed Stonewall Jackson Monument
I personally don't care either way with what is done with monuments...but Robert E. Lee certainly didn't seem to be fan of them.

Nobody was ever offended by the statue.
Anyone who says they were is a liar.

quote:Well, it was purchased by a private citizen out of a Slovakian scrap heap. The entire point was to be campy and to also piss on the memory of the USSR. The locals often drape the statue with decorations (including gay pride type of stuff) that would have highly offended the Soviets.
Why does Seattle still have a statue of Lenin? To remind Russians of mass killings?

Meanwhile in California...

A memorial in California honoring the 13 service members killed at the Kabul airport in Afghanistan has been vandalized.
The memorial in Riverside featured 13 American flags and a Marine Corps flag attached to an overpass fence above the 91 Freeway.
The Riverside Police Department posted a statement and photo of the damage on Facebook.

So it doesn't matter what that statue means to the rest of the world, as long as liberals think it's funny. Got it.

Racial relations will improve to unprecedented levels
I expect to see whites and blacks dining together at chick Fil-a and at popeyes

Most of the people protesting to have statues torn down probably don't even know who Robert E. Lee is

That's frickin typical.
Meanwhile, my local newsrag reports that the Emmitt Till memorial sign was vandalized and stolen when the truth was that it was knocked over by a rail crew.
I won't hold my breath on a retraction from WLOX.
