The message I got from a robotic voice

"This is the government tax fraud lawsuit department. We have tried to contact you for 6 months and have gotten no response. We consider this fraud and will now file a lawsuit under your name with the US government. To call for more information before we download your case to the courthouse please call_______"

Anyone who falls for this shite deserves to have their money taken

Yeah I got one from the "IRS" the other day threatening legal action.

I was like, weird since the IRS already reviewed, approved, and deposited my refund 2 weeks ago.

My new favorite is a robocall that states

"We are calling from 'your local cable company' with huge discounts for you to choose from".

The "your local cable company" is in a completely different robovoice, and the number is never local.

They are trying their best. The last guy I tried to frick with couldn't speak English well enough to realize I was fricking with him. It was no fun so I had to hang up. I want to at least have an opportunity to converse with them and figure out the scam.

Couple years ago I got a phone call from some guy God knows where trying to tell me I had a virus on my laptop. I proceeded to go on a 15 minute discussion telling him it was from all the goat porn I was watching while spitting on Allah's face. Listening to him become furious was hilarious and he kept trying to remain calm while screaming and trying to get back to this "virus". He just simply said "Your windows will need to be re-installed" and I told him I owned a MacBook before hanging up.

It's mostly elderly people, which is what pisses me off about it.

My grandparents got a call that a sibling was in prison and needed a wire transfer right now to bail him out. They very nearly got snickered until my parents found out about it.

Me too. I also get quite irate thinking of these idiots getting 1 cent from anyone, much less elderly people who don't have the money to waste.

I've been getting this one for a few years. Pretty lame attempt at a scam, but I'm sure there are some suckers. My wife would probably answer or call back and not know its a scam for a while, but eventually it would click. I don't know how people seriously believe this crap.

I think these clowns did some similar shite to my mom. Claiming they are going to take her assets, and garnish wages for her and her husband. Too bad she was so scared that they immediately paid it without mentioning it to me, bc I've heard many times about this IRS scam.

Old folks are the main ones this shite will work on. Also, the IRS won't threaten you like these crooks do.

I got a voicemail from the IRS threatening to sue and issue a federal warrant. I called back, it was an Indian accented guy who called himself some ultra-Anglo name, Preston something, and quickly rattled off some IRS badge number. Said he was calling from Atlanta. Then when I didn’t give him my name right away he hung up.

Very unprofessional of the IRS to act like this.

The last guy who called me couldn't remember if he was from the treasury department or the IRS.

The IRS sends letters. Everyone should know this by now. Old people I guess are losing their mental faculties, but no one else over the age of 12 should fall for these scams.

The people that put those stickers on their cars thinking cops give a shite are morons. from what I understand the police never see a dime from those police association donations. It's all a scam.

I used to enjoy cursing out the spam callers. But now they’re all robocalls or just silence.

Lately I've been getting calls from numbers that have the first 6 digits of my cell number. This always makes me do a double take.

I like that Tmobile will put in the caller id "Scam Likely" for known scammers.

I just never answer my phone unless I know the number. Everyone else can leave a voicemail.

I do the same at work.
