If we're putting instawhore cycle bunnies in combat, sure, fraternizing would be a concern, but I don't think the types of women who could make it through the process would be very lady like.

Yeah the guy who can't articulate an argument against what I said so he just says "ur stupood" is definitely intelligent.

What does this even mean in regards to anything I've said here?
Because women are not worth the recruitment efforts for combat units.

I'm really only implying that if you can pass the test, you can pass the test.
And I'm saying I don't care if she passes with flying colors.
Because I know she's not the norm and is not worth the fraternization risk to unit cohesion and the resource suck on tax dollars and man hours.
Women in combat units is mostly a modern invention and not something that has been the norm throughout history.

The kind of girls I'm talking about aren't even OT 5s. And this is all assuming this girl is passing the same standards as the men, which would mean a manly, muscular bull type looking girl.
You would literally gag if you found out what kind of women soldiers, sailors and airmen are willing to frick on base overseas.
quote:
If they lower standards, then I'm in 100% agreement with you.
I don't care if they lower the standards or not.
Women don't belong in combat units.

I agree with this, but there is a bigger issue folks - even if she can acutely man up and complete this course on an "even" footing (although there is effectively a 0% chance this is actually true or could be true) with men, women as a group:
1. Are weaker per pound
2. Have lower bone density then comparably sized men
3. Have reproductive/urinary tract novelties compared to men, that
...in combination result in women in austere conditions, such as those experienced by combat units, breaking down at a much higher, more rapid rate than their male counterparts. Couple that with a special forces operational tempo and that will likely skyrocket over even conventional combat units.
This is all a social experiment that is wrong-headed and does not result in a more capable, effective fighting force. Period. Full stop.
Shhhhh...your overlords don’t want you to speak about those.
General rule: women make the military weaker and less lethal as a whole. Women do not belong in the military and, like voting it was a mistake to let them in.

What does it matter if they do though. So long as she doesn’t get pregnant (I would assume she’s got an IUD) who cares if they frick. If two commando baws want to get up in each other brokeback style what would that matter either?
Google USS Acadia.
36 Women Pregnant Aboard a Navy Ship That Served in Gulf
Our tax dollars paid for all that fricking in that big orgy.
Whew!

I don't think I've ever disagreed with either of these as a blanket rule.
I think there are women who are certainly capable, but would say that there aren't enough to make it worth the recruitment effort.

That’s the way I see most men too. I’m 6’8 250. pounds. 90% of people look puny to me. That doesn’t mean I think less of them though a-hole.

No reasoning why, just a "I know so it's right"?
There has been extensive research done on this. Women (of military age, which also heavily aligns with childbearing age) get higher rates of urinary tract infections in the field. When physical stress is amplified (such as prolonged periods of combat or other similar physical stress), they develop dehydration, exhaustion, stress fractures, non-combat injuries at higher rates.
I'm not making this stuff up - I was a leader in this very same organization (the U.S. Army) for 3 decades.
I'm not biased against women serving - I had excellent luck with female superiors and female subordinates - they are some of the best troops with whom I served. I had less good luck with female peers over time, but that's a different story for a different day.
The 2 nations with the most experience with women in combat roles during actual combat conditions are the Soviet Union and Israel, certainly in the modern combat environment and it is not even close - several orders of magnitude over any other nation.
Neither (obviously I'm saying Russia now as the successor state to the USSR) do it any longer.
If women actually increased combat effectiveness in combat roles, why do you suppose they would make such a change?
I'll help you out - because there is no good reason to do it until you have no other choice. We have plenty of other choices than putting women into combat roles, particularly in special operations units.

I know a former green beret who's now an oil and gas lawyer. He told me most guys that do special forces serve one tour, get the frick out and use that operational experience as a means of moving up the chain.
He said advancement comes much quicker for those who have that sort of experience and that's why most get in. These are "career" guys and most want out asap, so they can reap the professional rewards.
He said only the wierdos stay in special forces longer and that once they do leave, they're sorta considered oddballs and ironically, advancement doesn't come so quickly once they finally do get out. Nobody really wants them around, their wiring gets a little fricked up.
He's generalizing of course but his point is this. As long as you have only one tour on your resume, you advance much quicker once you re-enter the regular army.
My guess is these gals won't see one meaningful moment of operational experience and once their tour is up, they're out.

I’ve got no problem with requiring women in the military to have to have an IUD. There should be no excuse for pregnancies. But “they might have sex” isn’t a reason to prevent them from serving in the military

I don't know whether this chick went through a watered down course or not, and I don't know how she will integrate onto an operational team. Maybe she'll do great, maybe she'll be a weak link. The old guys are agin it, but the old guys are always agin anything new. I will note that women have been integrating with SOF outside the wire for quite a while now, the most notable example being Shannon Kent, who everybody seems to acknowledge was a stud. LINK

The head of the Navy came out and said the results of those weren't valid because somehow the study wasn't done correctly. Needless to say the women who participated in that study were not happy with the comments.
Correct, they were pissed off because they felt like they volunteered for this tough, demanding experiment and it was all bs. The brass had already decided what the "truth" was going to be before it ever began.

Look no further than the US Army PT standards. Take note how there is one standard for men, and another less demanding standard for women...

Meh. A PT test is a very very small part of the selection process.
